The U.S. Department of Agriculture defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life.
Thanks to concerned faculty, staff, and community members the Highlander House campus food pantry was launched in July 2018 to address the food insecurity needs of students enrolled at Gordon State College.
Located in a repurposed conference room in the Student Activity and Recreation Center, the pantry serves over 200 students per year. Visiting the pantry is a discrete, no judgment experience for all students – commuters and residents.
