Inspiration

The Appledore was leaving at exactly 11 am and this was the perfect spot to capture it before it set sail. Working quickly was a bit of a challenge, but the way the sun glinted off the masts and the paint on the boat made for a fun image, and a challenge for this artist!

BIO

Mandy has been studying art for the past 15 years and has worked primarily in pastel. The excitement of the color that is displayed by using pastel and the immediacy of the medium is what drew her to pastel art. Plein air art allows Mandy to create on paper or board the beauty and peace of nature and to relax in an outdoor setting.
