Designation

We understand giving is a very personal choice.

If you want to give to a specific program to support our mission, we recommend the following areas of giving for your consideration.

Education

Eleanor by Women United—Over 180 Chapters of Women United exist across the country. Here in San Joaquin county we have our own version—Eleanor By Women United (EWU). Your donation can support the personal and professional development of both young and established women through workshops, mentorship events, education, and training programs.

Homelessness

Your contribution can help us support our sheltering and housing partners who each day care for our unsheltered homeless populations across the County. Over the past three years, we have seen the cities come together to continue the growth of shelter beds and housing units to support our community members. United Way works to aid those agencies by convening cities and nonprofits around housing and administering funds to support shelter needs and operations.

Community Capacity

Your funds can help UWSJC convene over 2000 nonprofit which exist in SJC. We bring together networks and agencies, both large and small, to help them build their own internal capacity through education and training. We launched a nonprofit CEO leadership Collaborative which brings CEO’s from our largest nonprofit together to identify needs, reduce replication and build greater networks which supports and drives funds to those with the greatest need.

Community Gifts

Giving to United Way helps us to strengthen and support our nonprofits realize their own mission and vision. But direct gifts leverage our work in directing funds to larger scale social impact projects in our social impact areas such as homelessness and education. Contributions can be made in the form of Direct Donation, Small Business 365, 401k Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), Leadership Giving Levels, Stocks, or Planned Giving.
