Agency Responsibilities

Agency will provide and plan an experience for volunteers that directly benefits both the agency and its clients and also provide volunteers with a rewarding opportunity.

All projects must take place in the areas of Carlisle, Newville, Plainfield, Boiling Springs, Mount Holly Springs and New Kingstown.

Agency will complete a volunteer project form and submit it to United Way no later than Monday, September 23, 2024. Submission of the Volunteer Work Project Request form will constitute a firm commitment by the agency to participate in Day of Caring.

Agency will assign a staff person to coordinate their project. This staff person will give the Day of Caring volunteers a brief welcome and orientation to the agency, as well as instruct, support and supervise volunteers the day of the event.

If a project requires detailed work, an agency staff member may want to arrange a prior meeting with the team assigned to the agency. This should be done only after the agency and the volunteers have been notified of their assignment.

Agency is responsible for providing any tools and materials necessary to complete project unless volunteers agree to provide them.

Agency must take all steps necessary to ensure the safety of volunteers, clients and staff.

The United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County will host its annual Day of Caring on Friday, October 11 from approximately 8 a.m. to noon.

Logistics Information

Day of Caring Kickoff will be held at 8 a.m. at Dickinson College's Allison Hall, 99 Mooreland Avenue, Carlisle.

A representative from your agency should try to attend the kickoff, meet with volunteer group at kickoff, and answer any questions before heading to your project location.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers, thanks to our sponsors, at LeTort Park Pavilion in Carlisle from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.

Please have volunteers work until noon.

You will be notified of your volunteer group assignment by Oct. 3.
