About Water Warriors and Why You Should Apply


Calling all High School and College Water Advocates! Do you have a passion for nature and want to make a real impact on the environment?

High school and college students interested in water conservation, outreach, fundraising, and community engagement may apply to Water Warriors on Campus.

Water Warriors make a positive impact by participating in fundraising campaigns, arranging outreach events, and engaging with the local community to raise awareness about preserving the Chattahoochee River Basin. This opportunity will help you develop valuable leadership, communication, and outreach skills.

Program Details

The Water Warriors on Campus program runs from October 2024 to May 2025 and is free to participate.

Once admitted, students are expected to:

  • Complete a minimum of 10 volunteer hours by participating in approved activities such as cleanups, community outreach, peer education, event support, and other conservation-related experiences.

  • Submit a monthly timesheet to track hours and activities throughout the program.

  • Join and stay active in the Water Warriors GroupMe, where program updates, reminders, and service opportunities will be shared.

  • Engage in a variety of experiences, aiming to participate across different categories like education, service, and advocacy.

  • Submit a mid-year check-in (January or February) to reflect on progress and share feedback.

  • Complete a final reflection in May to summarize their experience, growth, and contributions.

Students who meet all program expectations will receive:

  • A Water Warrior Certificate of Completion

  • Public recognition through CRK platforms

  • Priority access to future Water Warrior Leaders program and Water Warriors on Summer Break Program
