Support Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has become one of the largest and fastest displacement crises in the world. It's also one of Europe's bloodiest conflicts since World War II. In the war's first year, some 8M people fled their homeland. And more than 7M people were displaced inside Ukraine, according to the United Nations. For all 15M people -- many of whom are women and children -- rebuilding a new life in a new community or country is still a monumental challenge.
In the first six months of the war, United Way and its partners in Hungary, Romania, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain gave life-changing help to 131,249 refugees. The United for Ukraine Fund raised $4.2M during that time, over $5,000 of which was contributed by Greater Capital Region donors. Of every dollar raised, 95 cents goes to on-the-ground partners, while 5 cents helps United Way vet recipients, track and measure impact. To learn more about our early impact, please download our interim impact report (or the executive summary here).
Please help now. Donate to our United for Ukraine Fund, and help millions of Ukrainian women, children, and families rebuild their lives.
