Why Anchorage Project Access Every day in Alaska, people face serious health challenges without the means to pay for care. They are our neighbors, co-workers, and community members—people who contribute to Alaska’s strength but fall through the cracks of traditional health systems. Anchorage Project Access (APA) exists to change that. As Alaska’s only health care safety net of its kind, APA connects low-income, uninsured individuals with donated medical, dental, and mental health care from a network of more than 820 local providers. Through this remarkable partnership, patients receive life-saving treatment—at no cost—in over 40 specialties, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery, cardiology, radiology, dental surgery, and physical therapy. But APA does more than coordinate appointments. We remove barriers that prevent patients from getting care. Each year, APA provides: Care coordination to guide patients through complex systems Medication assistance so treatment plans can succeed Transportation and interpreter services to ensure access and understanding Connections to community resources for continued stability and support Every gift fuels this network of compassion and keeps the doors of hope open for hundreds of Alaskans each year. When you support APA, you’re doing more than giving to a cause—you’re joining a movement of care that says every Alaskan deserves access to health, dignity, and healing.
