Connect Chicago Alliance has set up this fundraiser in Mike Doucette's honor. This organization was selected as a way to honor his memory because the mission of Special Olympics means a lot to his family. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

As the head soccer coach for Special Olympics at the University of Michigan, I'm proud to support an organization that makes a huge difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our program helps make sports more accessible and inclusive for everyone. While we have a fantastic group of volunteers, we rely on donations to ensure we have quality equipment, facilities, and can continue to host exciting games, tournaments, and scrimmages.On Sunday, October 13th, I'll be running a marathon in Ann Arbor to raise awareness for Special Olympics and hopefully gather some funding. Hello! My name is Jairah Godoy. I have been part of the Special Olympics Hawaii Team since 1997. Special Olympics has been a place where I can be myself and also enjoy participating in sports year-round to stay fit and be part of a group with others just like me. Please help me for this season’s sport of Bowling by donating to our Bowl-A-Thon. We need to raise funds by September 15, 2022 and your help is always greatly appreciated!

We want to make a difference. Special Olympic Events make it so that athletic competitions are inclusive to all people of all ages and is near and dear to our hearts. We have family members, friends and classmates alike that all take advantage of the opportunities provided to them through this organization. It would not happen without donations. I learned the importance of the work Special Olympics does through my involvement with Unified Basketball and Bowling teams at Penfield High School. I want to help as many children as possible achieve their dreams.
