Each year with our Vacation Bible School, we participate in a service project that embodies our love for our siblings in Christ. Because our VBS theme is the Olympics, we chose the Special Olympics as the organization to which we would like to make financial donations so that athletes have the opportunity to let their light shine!
Tell your story here. Why did you choose to raise money for the Special Olympics? What is the special occasion for which you are raising money - birthday, bar or bat mitzvah, wedding, anniversary, etc? What made you decide on the Special Olympics as the beneficiary? Be as specific and compelling as possible.
Hi, my name is Sarah Silver, and I am a 7th grader at Terrill Middle School. I will become a Bat Mitzvah on November 18, 2023. For my Bat Mitzvah project, I have decided to raise money for the Special Olympics. I developed a passion for swimming since I was little and I love watching sports, especially football. I thought it was perfect for me to raise money for the Special Olympics to help support their mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience the joy of participating in a sport—just as I experience as a member of the JCC Barracudas swim team. To raise money, I will hold a Swim-a-Thon where I will swim 1,800 yards and am asking for a donation of at least 1 cent per yard ($18 total). I hope you will donate to my cause. Thank you!Sarah

The Special Olympics are just that….special. You will not find a more positive, encouraging, and hard working group of athletes. I’ve signed up for a 100 mile race on Labor Day weekend and I want to use that effort to raise funds for Williams County Special Olympics. Please consider donating to this incredible group of athletes.

Hello everyone! Investing in local communities and encouraging employee volunteerism are core aspects of Otis's ESG strategy. This summer, Otis is empowering interns to contribute social impact via Community Service Week, from June 28th to July 2nd. As a remote intern, I wanted to organize something that the whole team globally could participate in! Otis employees have been big supporters of the Special Olympics in the past, with some serving as coaches in sports such as alpine skiing and snowboarding, which is why I thought this would be a great cause to support. If you have any money to spare, I would greatly appreciate your donation so that we can reach our goal of $100 by July 2nd!

RPS has a culture of teamwork, empathy, and taking the initiative. This culture is built on the foundation of our shared values, some of which state: “We all need one another. We are all cogs in a wheel,” “Empathy for the other person is not a weakness,” “We adhere to the highest standards of moral and ethical behavior,” and “We run to problems, not away from them.” That last one, Adam Mazan, Vice President Pacific Region, and his team in southern California took quite literally. They were looking to make an impact. They were looking to be Better Together, but how? Adam and his team settled upon the idea of a charity run. However, it wouldn’t be any standard 5K or half-marathon…or even a full marathon. To make a difference, they were looking to be different. Run 36 miles in 36 hours! Work some, then run some. Eat. Sleep. Work. Run. Repeat! Join us in supporting Adam and his team as they become Better Together and run to benefit some of their favorite charities. Some team members plan on running all 36 miles themselves, while others will be doing it as a relay team. This team proves that when you work together, you can make things better!
