For my Mitzvah Project I have decided to support the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a wonderful organization where children and adults with mental or physical disabilities can come together and have an opportunity to participate in competitions of athletics or fitness. The Special Olympics and helping special needs kids and adults is something that is near and dear to my heart. It’s important for people with disabilities to have the same opportunities as you and me because they are no different than us. We are all blessings from God and contribute to our communities in our own unique way. For my mitzvah project I have decided to raise money for the Special Olympics so all children and young adults can experience the thrill of competition, good sportsmanship and teamwork that I get to enjoy every day. I was inspired by my Great Aunt Lori, who competed in swimming for the Special Olympics and the special needs kids at my school, PVIS. My Aunt Lori loved the thrill of competition and the sense of accomplishment she felt standing on the podium to receive her medals. She loved to be a part of a team, just like me and I want to help give everyone that opportunity.

Austin Head's Bootcamp is so much more than just a workout. It's about pushing ourselves to achieve physical fitness, grow in confidence, expand our belief in what is possible, and deepen relationships. This is why we are partnering with Special Olympics by raising money to support their mission to provide sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We want everyone to have the same opportunity to experience the joy of a fitness community like ours.

My education through College was in Special Education so I spent several years being a Special Ed teacher and then volunteering one on one with Special Needs Children. I believe that the “Special Olympics” is a beautiful opportunity for special needs children to feel success and be a part of a team! This is a cause near and dear to my heart.
Hi Everyone! I thought it would be a great idea to do a fundraiser in Barb's honor for her retirement. Due to her fabulous fantasy football season, this seemed like the appropriate charity. You should be able to donate anonymously if you choose. Feel free to share the link with others. Cheers

Hello. My name is Belle. I am a part of special olympics. I play 5 pin bowling, curling, softball, pickleball, and floor hockey. I chose to raise money for special Olympics to help fund my trip to nationals in Calgary 2024 for bowling. I hope you can help me reach my goal in getting to nationals. I won the right to represent midland Ontario.
Arne Sorenson was a board member for Special Olympics and was an advocate for the disadvantaged. This is to honor his legacy after his recent passing. Our Marriott family and the extended community is forever in debited to Arne who is an irreplaceable leader who we will miss dearly. ---The extended finance family @ Marriott.
In May 2020, Ben learned how to ride his bike! He found freedom on two wheels and hasn't looked back since. After several bike rides around the neighborhood and along the lakefront, we set up a challenge for ourselves. How many consecutive days could we ride our bikes? We started our streak on 7/31/20. Our first goal - 50 days - came and went pretty quickly. It's hard to believe, but now we are approaching one FULL YEAR of biking together. We made it through the winter (including 3 weeks of sub-zero temps in February!) and are gearing up for our final days. It's been a great experience for us and we are grateful that our bodies allow us to do this. But, what if we could share our blessings with other kids for whom biking presents a challenge? Please join Ben and I in celebrating our 365 days of bike riding by making a donation to the Special Olympics. It is our hope that we can make biking and physical activity easier and accessible for all kids. Ben has lofty goals. Rumor has it his parents will match all donations up to $2500 #bikingwithBen
My son Jesse participates every year in the Special Olympics. This year I want to be able to help not only my son but others with special needs to be able to participate in this awesome event. With your donations you would not only be helping Jesse but others like him. Your donations will help with transportation, any equipment that they will need for the events. I want to thank you in advance for your donations and help.

Thank you for your donation in memory of our mother Ann Cohn, in honor of Lenny Cohn, her beloved son. For many years, Lenny enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics activities and we appreciate the experiences he had during those times.
It's what my older sister who passed away and one of her wishes was to donate money to the special Olympics because she loved people and she loved to help special people. So in her memory I want to fulfill her wish.

This page was created to honor the memory and life of the parents of our coworker, Chris Keene. In passing, both Chris's father (who passed in June 2024) and stepmother (who passed in April 2024) have graciously donated their remains to science, and thus there is no service for outside attendants. One thing that Chris expressed that gave them the greatest pride, was that of Chris's stepbrother who was a proud Special Olympian. If you feel so moved, please consider making a small donation of any amount you wish, to support the Special Olympics. All proceeds will go directly to the Special Olympics foundation via this fundraiser. This is completely voluntary. Thank you for your consideration.
