My name is Maggie Westerman and I'm a sophomore at the University of Scranton. I'm a Communication major with a concentration in Journalism and Electronic Media and a member of the Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program. This May, I and nine other students will be traveling to Arizona and Mexico as part of the Kino Border Initiative. The Kino Border Initiative offers direct humanitarian assistance and accompaniment with migrants through its soup kitchen, nursing clinic, and women’s shelter. Your donation would help fund this service trip. Any donation helps and I greatly appreciate all the support I have already received from family and friends.

Hi all!I am excited to announce that I will be traveling to San Bernardino, Guatemala for an international service trip with the University of Scranton this coming summer from May 29th to June 5th. This opportunity, made possible by Partners In Development (PID), will allow me to interact with local people as I build homes, help in village improvements, run children's programs, and assist the PID clinic. I am incredibly excited to develop relationships with other participating students as well as the local people, step outside of my comfort zone, and develop skills in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity environment. If you would like to read more about Partners In Development, you can check them out on their website: https://www.pidonline.orgI am honored to have been chosen for this trip. I am so excited to announce that I will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador in May 2019 to take part in my first ever service trip through my university’s Campus Ministries' International Service Program (ISP)! The ISP program provides opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to be immersed in cultures and experiences in developing countries of our world. For my trip to Ecuador the university has partnered with The Working Boys' Center – a Catholic institution socially committed with working families in order to help them become agents of their own and their community's prosperity. Its processes involve promoting, developing and strengthening attitudes and behaviors associated with the ten important aspects of life: loyalty, personal formation, family, religion, health, education, economy, work, housing, and recreation. All donations will help offset transportation, housing, and meal costs for my trip. Any kind of support would be immensely appreciated!

Hello! My Name is Kameron Matthews and I am currently a junior Exercise Science major at the University. At the end of May I will be participating in an International Service Trip to San Lucas, Guatemala. During this trip we will be working with the San Lucas Mission (Feel free to learn more by clicking the link). Projects include participation in construction, coffee picking and processing, and reforestation. We will receive a cross-cultural experience combining hands-on service with opportunities for learning and community building. My fundraising goal is $1,700 and any amount helps. I applied to this trip because I wanted to experience cultures outside of the United States and have an opportunity to give back to others. If you have the means and are willing to donate, I would be extremely grateful--if not, I understand too! Thank you for taking the time to hear about the University of Scranton's ISP trip to San Lucas, Guatemala and my fundraising goal of $1,700.
