We are aiming to raise enough money ($150,000) to build a dormitory for the students of Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School in Uganda. Due to a generous matching offer by the Wolohan Family Foundation, we need to raise $75,000 on this page to reach our goal! This dormitory would ensure that students have access to the education provided by Holy Cross Missions. The Notre Dame Women’s Boxing Club is an student-run organization devoted to physical wellness, service, and education. In addition to teaching our members the fundamentals of boxing, we focus on fundraising for the Holy Cross Missions in East Africa, supporting both the Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School and and Saint Joseph’s Hill Secondary School in Uganda. Our boxing season culminates with a three-night tournament called Baraka Bouts, named after the Swahili word “baraka”, meaning “blessings.”
Hello friends and fam!! As most of you know, I have been part of the Notre Dame Women's Boxing Club for the past four years. It has become a huge part of my life, and I've developed such a passion for this community and the amazing work that we do. For my senior year, I am one of nine captains for the program, helping to teach a group of ~300 women the fundamentals of boxing, while emphasizing the importance of philanthropy. Last year, we collectively raised about $65,000 for the Holy Cross Missions in Uganda, which was used to build a proper school for boys and girls in the area. Unfortunately, the school is unable to be used, as the children do not live close enough to commute, and there is no suitable living conditions nearby. All the proceeds from this year's Baraka Bouts tournament will go towards the effort to build dormitories for the children. With your help, we are able to make this dream a reality, and give the opportunity for education to these super dope kids. With the help of my family and friends, last year I raised over $1000. This year, I am aiming to double that. Fundraising is especially important because the Wolohan family has made the generous donation of a matching gift. Every dollar you give has double the impact, which can truly make a huge difference in the lives of these kids!! Donate if you love me, donate double if you want me to beat up someone you don't like. xoxo ~~~ Jess

Hi guys! I'm Marisa and most of you know me as the girl who constantly fills your social media with posts about boxing! Well, that's still true! Except now our season has started and the real fun begins, fundraising! I just have some questions for you: What did you do today? Did you go to class? Did you procrastinate on that assignment? Were you ever grateful today that you can go to school? Did you feel lucky that you can even have an education? Well, the Notre Dame Women's Boxing team fights to make the children of Kyarusozi and Jinja, Uganda as lucky as we are. We fight for the Holy Cross Missions so that children there can have what we take for granted, an education. The money we raise this year will go to two schools, St. Joseph's Hill in Kyarusozi, and Lakeview School in Jinja. This year we are focused on not only supplying recourses and support to these schools, but specifically building dormitories for Lakeview. Lakeview's original campus was plagued with sickness and flooding due to an unideal foundation. The campus has been completely moved to a clean, sanitary, strong piece of land, but it lacks the housing for the students and teachers. To achieve this goal would mean securing a safe, supportive community within a dormitory for the staff and students of Lakeview. All I ask is that you help us fight for those who can't fight for themselves. I ask that you donate to the ND Women's Boxing Team. This Mission has found its way into my heart, and I know it will find its way into yours. No gift is too small, and even the smallest of donations has a lasting impact. Thank you for your support! Peace, Love, and Punches Marisa "One Punch" Perino

Hi! My name is Annie Dooley, and I am a member of the Notre Dame Women's Boxing Club called Baraka Bouts. I am a senior, and it is my first year on the team. We practice everyday of the week, and each day, we show up not only to train, but to work towards a mission that our team supports. Over the last two months, my teammates and I have been working to raise enough money ($150,000) to build a dormitory for the students of Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School in Uganda. Due to a generous matching offer by the Wolohan Family Foundation, we need to raise $75,000 on this page to reach our goal! This dormitory would ensure that students have access to the education provided by Holy Cross Missions in this area of Uganda. My personal goal is to raise at least $250, and I would be very grateful for any type of donations here on my page! The site will walk you through the steps on how to contribute. It is very simple, and you will be recognized as a donor for this incredible mission this fall! Again, any amount is very much appreciated! Thank you in advance!
