Our Dearest Friends and Family, My father, Mal Doyle, passed away shortly before midnight on March 20, 2025. He organized the Greater Hartford Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group in CT and also served as an Ambassador for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. My Dad inspired so many people in his life. He made the most of every breathing moment and taught me the importance of a smile. Each day is a gift that we have to embrace. Manuela La Grenade Please donate in the name of Manuela La Grenade, so that a cure and/or treatments to prolong life for sufferers of this terrible disease can be found. Manuela Blanco Rivas was born to Jesus Blanco and Elvira Rivas on September 24, 1939 in Oleiros-Jubin a suburb of A Coruña, Spain, during the Spanish civil war. Her family lived off the land and farm animals. At a very young age and together with her three siblings she learned to be resourceful and a hard worker. It was the time when WWII was about to get serious in Europe. As a young lady she immigrated to England. There, she met her husband Alvin in 1966 during his tour of duty with the USAF. Manuela and Alvin were married in Spain on June 4, 1967 and soon traveled back to Alvin’s home country of Venezuela. She became a mother of two boys Jose and Jaime. In December of 1974, the four of them came to the US when Alvin attended school under the GI bill. In 1976, while living in Norman, Oklahoma Manuela accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior under the leadership of a missionary lady named Wilma Mann. Until her passing, Wilma and Manuela remained close friends. After Alvin’s graduation in 1977 from the University of Oklahoma the family traveled back to Venezuela. There, her third son Joel was born. The entire family came back to the US in 1984 and after a brief stay in Norman, settled in the Dallas, Texas area. Manuela dedicated her life with emphasis on raising her three sons. From 1986 to 2008 she operated a children’s home child care. Pre pandemic, Manuela and Alvin were long-time attendees of Trinity Bible Church of Richardson, Texas and for many years were actively involved in the Spanish speaking bible study ministry offered by TBC. She went home to be with the Lord, on Monday October 17, 2022. In honor of a life well-lived. Beloved and loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend, Marcia passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, on October 5th, 2021. Born in Joliet, Illinois on May 24th, 1952, Marcia lived the majority of her life in the Chicago area before retiring in 2015 and realizing her dream of a life at the beach in Myrtle Beach. Marcia loved her family more than anything, but a close second was a project. Knitting, basket-making, quilting, painting, wallpapering - you name it, she'd dive headfirst into it. We are so lucky to have so many useful things made by her hands that will remain in our lives for years to come. Marcia is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years, Paul, as well as her sons Ryan and Aaron, her daughter-in-law Abby, grandchildren Hannah and Connor and grandpets Bjügaarhæd (aka Booger) and Sherman.
