My Brother passed away on 11/10/21 after a long hard battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. By the time he was officially diagnosed, there wasn't a lot of treatment options for him. Our beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Ernesto “Ernie” Gonzalez passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Julie Gonzalez, his daughter Jill Nelson (Dan), son Ernesto “Bub” Gonzalez (Kenya) and two beloved grandsons Dean and Ashton Nelson. He is also survived by 4 brothers and 4 sisters, Osbaldo Gonzalez, Alfonso Gonzalez (Regina), Jorge Gonzalez (Linda), Michael Rivera (Amy), Maria “Cissy” Garza (Michael), Dalia Gonzalez, Corina Villela (Lisa), Carolina Rivera (Julian), brother-in-law Mike and Linda Griffin, father-in-law Gene and Sandy Griffin, and countless nephew, nieces, cousins, and friends. Ernie was born in Galveston, Texas on July 28, 1958 and lived in Austin, Texas, until he moved to Evansville, Indiana, in 1989 he met the love of his life Julie when he worked at Hudson Valley for about 10 years and devoted 25 years to Azteca Milling where he retired. Ernie was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy’s fan and Texas Longhorns, he never missed the games. His favorite pastime was fishing.
