Sudha Parekh Our family is raising awareness and funds for the mission of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in loving memory of Sudha Parekh. Sudha Parekh of Weston, Florida, passed away peacefully on the 29th of September in 2008, from complications arising from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). She was surrounded by her family during her last moments. Sudha was born on July 24th, 1937 in Rajkot India to Sarla and Ratilal Kamani. She grew up in Rajkot, married Ramesh Parekh of Nairobi, Kenya, and moved to Kenya at the age of 20. There, she gave birth to her daughter Neeta and her son Asheet (Ken). After spending over a decade in East Africa, Sudha and her family moved to Canada, where her third child, Anjou, was born. Warm weather brought them to Miami, Florida in 1972, and Sudha and Ramesh called South Florida their home ever since that day. Sudha is remembered dearly for her liveliness, musical talent, and beauty. She attended nearly every joyous occasion in her community, loved yoga and traveling, and illuminated every space with her beautiful voice and positive energy. In a poem dedicated to her mother, Anjou wrote, “Words do not suffice…for how can pen on paper capture the essence of your being? The lightness in your smile, the music in your eyes, you are…wisdom, laughter, grace.” Sudha is survived by her children, Neeta, Ken, and Anjou; her sons-in-law, Sunil and Siddhartha; her daughter-in-law Sonia; her grandchildren, Sejal, Sachin, Karina, Shivani, Rahul, Devan, and Dylan; her sister, Bhanuben; and her brothers, Bakul, Pankaj, and Naynesh. She is together in spirit with her brothers Ashwin and Prafull, and her husband Ramesh. Suseela Chundi Photos My mom, Suseela Chundi, wondered how people less fortunate than her could cope with this devastating illness as she struggled with each breath. She was a woman with immense patience, quiet strength, and unconditional love for all. With her profound appreciation for life and refreshing optimism, she was a constant inspiration to those around her.
