Ann Criswell, longtime Houston Chronicle Food Editor, died Tuesday December 15, 2020, of complications from COVID-19. The Houston Food Bank addressed an important concern of Ann’s. It was hard for her to experience the abundance and joy of food and at the same time that so many Houstonians experienced food insecurity. She strongly supported their mission. We can think of no better way to remember our mother than by supporting The Houston Food Bank, especially now that so many people depend on this food to sustain them as COVID continues to threaten our world.

Arun cared deeply about helping others in need. In lieu of flowers or other items, the Arjunan family asks that you honor Arun by donating to the Houston Food Bank. ******************** A bright light for all, Arunkumar Arjunan passed in peace on March 27, 2021 and will be dearly missed as a loving son, brother, and friend. Arun graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1997 and obtained a degree in Genetics from Texas A&M University in 2001. He pursued his passion by becoming a scientist at Novartis and Scripps Research, and later as a teacher to disadvantaged middle school youth in Houston Independent School District. Arun was a voracious reader and fulfilled his deep curiosity through lifelong learning and a variety of interests. All who knew him, knew he enjoyed cooking and lively conversations ranging from science, current events, hip hop, and all things basketball. He was always passionate about music and film and amassed an impressive music library over the years which he used to introduce new sounds and beats to friends. Above all, Arun will always be known for his open heart and loyal friendship. Arun led with compassion, welcoming everyone as a friend and lending all friends his help and loyalty without question. Arun made everyone feel seen and special with his easy smile, sharp wit, and sardonic sense of humor. Though Arun’s time with us was short, his impact was indelible. Arun bravely met life’s moments with authenticity, both in hardship and in joy. He ensured that his actions mirrored his values and belief in doing what was right and fair. May we all have the courage to do the same and honor Arun’s memory by carrying this spirit into our own lives. Arun leaves behind his loving mother Leela, father Palanisamy, brothers Selvam and Ananth, and sister-in-law Shannon
Charles (Chase) Suzuki Glazzard June 28, 1989 – March 14, 2021 Charles Suzuki Glazzard, beloved son and friend, passed away on March 14, 2021. He is the son of, and survived by, Charles Glazzard and Yoshiko Glazzard, who love him more than words can describe. He is also survived by his grandmother, Margaret Glazzard. Chase attended Awty International School graduating with honors and furthered his education in Boston graduating from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School with a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Business Administration and International Studies. In addition to his love of animals, music, photography and sports, Chase was a world traveler and gifted linguist, fluent in English, Japanese, French and Spanish. Chase found success in, and enjoyed, business focusing on operations management, human resources, and accounting. He served in a management role as director of operations for a multinational manufacturing company as well as overseeing operations for several smaller and mid-sized companies. While corporate life was enjoyable, what he found most fulfilling was helping others achieve their aspirations, and subsequently established Yume Business Solutions to help others fulfill their dreams. “Yume” is Japanese for “dreams”. The loss of such a beautiful and sensitive soul is profound and overwhelming and we pray for his eternal peace.

I've created this page to honor the legacy of my mother Joyce Holton. We are asking friends and family to donate to the Houston Food Bank in lieu of flowers. My mother has always been a big supporter of the Houston Food Bank, and we have donated in her honor for birthdays and holidays many, many times over the years. I know she would be honored to have money raised in her memory to support this important cause.Thank you for continuing my mom's legacy with your gift to the Houston Food Bank. Here is her obituary: Joyce Click Holton, a kind and beautiful person, passed away on Wednesday October 20, 2021. Born on August 3, 1942 in Houston Texas to Loyce and George Click, she was 79 years old. Following her childhood and school years in LaMarque, Texas, she raised her two daughters, Lisa and Angie, with her sweet husband Joe in Houston. In her 61 year marriage to Joe, they said they were “still crazy after all these years” because of their unique and loving partnership. With an incredibly funny and quick wit, Joyce often referred to herself as a “most peculiar Mama.” Operating from the space of love itself, her compassionate nature was obvious to everyone who knew her. An avid reader, she especially loved researching American social history, the British royalty, and music biographies. She loved to hunt for antique and collectible dishware, which she discussed with friends in her many years with the Houston Glass Club. She was also an amazing artist. She created intricate collages on decorative boxes which she gave to friends and family, and she also made hearts which she donated to La Pena art gallery for their auctions. Joyce is survived by her devoted husband Joe Rider Holton, her daughters Melissa (Lisa) Holton and Angela (Angie) Schafer, and her sons-in-law, Lee Kyle and Phil Schafer. She is also survived by her brother George Wayne Click, his wife Diana, brother-in-law Bill Holton and his wife Georgia, her nephews Kevin and Jeff Click, and her niece, Kelly Click. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Click Trout. Funeral services were held in a private ceremony in Austin Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the Houston Food Bank, one of Joyce’s favorite charities. Last year in March of 2022, we said goodbye to too soon to our colleague and friend, Randy Sauceda, who passed away at the age of 31. Randy was a beloved HTC operator who had a zest for life and a lightheartedness that was infectious to everyone he worked with. Randy had a passion for helping others and was an active participant in Lyondell’s fundraising and food drives. Today, in his memory, we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us in honoring Randy and his generous spirit by donating to the Houston Food Bank. Your donation not only pays tribute to Randy’s memory, but also continues to pass on his kindness to those who need it most. Together, let's make a difference in memory of Randy, uplifting those in need just as he uplifted and touched us with his joyful presence.
