Hello all, Diwali is a Hindu Festival of Lights which is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists (Indic tradition) and the festive spirit expressed by those of “any, all and no faith.” Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance." Light is a metaphor for knowledge and consciousness. "Sewa" is a Sanskrit word, said to be derived from the two roots, "saha" and "eva". Respectively, these mean "along with" and "too, or as well." Put together, they are a reminder that our society's well-being is a responsibility which we all share and its fruits only as nourishing as the care we put into it. Hence #SewaDiwali is Festival of Lights and Sewa(Selfless Service) and our contribution back to society. If each one of us is willing to contribute some time and energy to this cause, we can help make this Diwali auspicious for many in the communities which we call home. “Being of Service to others is what bring true Happiness.” We are collecting canned food items during this Diwali week.
