We have many engagement opportunities at ibex, one of the largest is ibex Cares. Every year at each of our sites around the world, we dedicate ourselves to bringing awareness to a specific charity. This year our Pittsburgh, Pa. site, through the leadership of Dir. Jason Vaught, has decided to focus on the Special Olympics. Jason Vaught has a long relationship with Special Olympics stretching back several decades! He has brought his passion working with Special Olympics to ibex and our first fundraiser supported the Polar Plunge 2023! We are excited to continue bringing awareness to such a storied institution and hope to grow our relationship with Special Olympics through the years to come.

It's unseasonably warm in MN, but we're moving on with the (not-so) Polar Plunge to support athletes in the Special Olympics. As I train for a marathon and support my family in their athletic endeavors, I know how important fitness is to my own life. And I want to support local athletes of all abilities in their journey, too.If you're interested and able to support my Plunge, please send a donation. $5 or $10 would help me reach my goal of $250. If my team reaches our goal, our company CEO will top it off with another donation (and he's plunging in Michigan too)! Thanks for considering! Emily

Hello fellow NSO members! Our community partner is currently Special Olympics. There are quite a few volunteer opportunities (Click here to see them all: https://www.soill.org/regiona/ ) that are available for us to volunteer at this semester! However, as nursing students, we understand you all have busy lives and families to care for. If you are unable to volunteer or simply want to send some extra help to the Special Olympics community. Help the NSO reach their goal of 200 dollars donated for the spring semester of 2020.

In today's uncertain times, we want to show the Millis Police Department we support them, appreciate them and don't count them as part of the problem. We want to show our Department we see them and recognize them as an agent of healing that will help our community in these trying times. We know that the Department is very involved in the Special Olympics so along with collecting snacks and other items to present the Department, we wanted to give people the opportunity to donate in their honor to a cause they support. Any amount is appreciated. We will be including a certificate showing the donations along with our baskets.

The Gobble Wobble is a virtual 5k that will take place on November 28th (Saturday) this year! Participants will either run, jog, walk, bike, push a stroller, walk on their hands.. anything to complete a distance of 5 kilometers (~3.1 miles). This is a virtual 5k, meaning participants will complete the 5k at a safe distance from others using the fitness tracking app, Strava, to record their distance and time. The goal of this event is to promote healthy, active lifestyles and participate in physical activity after being stuffed with food at Thanksgiving! The registration fee for this event is $10 and all proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics.

As summer approaches, we all love to dress casual and wear shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and baseball hats. If we can each donate a dollar for each day that we dress casually between June 5th and 23rd, that would be ideal. Feel free to donate more if you feel inclined. Special Olympics does a lot of good for the developmentally disabled community both here in Michigan and across the country. I can even proudly say I have a few friends that have been gold medal winners.

Hi Friends & Family! I wanted to get involved with giving back to the community, so together with a couple of my work friends, we've joined forces to participate in the Wheaton Hot Cider Hustle 5k Fun Walk on Saturday, October 29 . We are raising money for the Special Olympics, a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition for athletes and young athletes with disabilities. This is especially dear to me because I believe in supporting community programs for people with disabilities, whether physical or intellectual or mental, seen and unseen, disclosed or undisclosed. You probably know someone that is living with a disability and they are in need of some type of support. Special Olympics programs enhance physical fitness, motor skills, self-confidence, social skills and encourage family and community support. If my team, The Good Witches, meets or exceeds our fundraising goals, we can apply for a fundraising grant through our company foundation to match our contributions. I hope you'll donate to our cause! No donation is too small! Thank you for all your support! Event info: https://allcommunityevents.com/hotciderhustle

I am a Key Club LTG for the Cardinal Division in the Indiana District. Every year, each LTG picks an organization and does a project to help benefit the community they serve. I chose Special Olympics because their mission is very close to my heart. Growing up and all through elementary school, one of my really close friends had Down Syndrome and Special Olympics provided her the opportunity to play sports and meet other friends. Special Olympics provides so many people with incredible opportunities, so I think it is super important to provide them with the tools they need to keep making this large impact!

Birthday

Twelve years I started as a volunteer coach with UCLA Special Olympics. I’m so grateful for the memories I’ve made throughout the years as a volunteer and being able to meet talented athletes not only in California but other cities I’ve called home in New York and Florida too. For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Special Olympics Florida. I've chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I've included information about Special Olympics Florida below. Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem and the life skills necessary to be productive, respected and contributing members of their communities.

My name is Carli Freedman. My friend Julianna Miller and I are very interested and involved in special education. Julianna is a Special Education major at West Chester University, and I am a Public Health major at West Chester University. Juliana and I have tons of work for special education such as special olympics, variety club camp, which is a camp for kids with disabilities, and top soccer which raises money for kids in need. We are also in Best Buddies at West Chester, which is a club for autism. We would like to raise money to help the kids in need. We will be taking donations from now until May, and in May our event will consist of a party, with food drinks and raffles that all get donated to the Special Olympics.
