I decided to set up the donations to go to Special Olympics because this group of athletes is often not represented as much and needs more support. Austin Head's Bootcamp is so much more than just a workout. It's about pushing ourselves to achieve physical fitness, grow in confidence, expand our belief in what is possible, and deepen relationships. This is why we are partnering with Special Olympics by raising money to support their mission to provide sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We want everyone to have the same opportunity to experience the joy of a fitness community like ours.

Hong Zhao Hong (Alice) Zhao, age 53, a longtime Westford resident, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Lowell General Hospital. Hong has been donating to Special Olympics for the past years. Hong lived her life with grace and courage, inspiring in all others what she brought to her family and friends. She was also a well-loved and popular member of her community. Among Hong’s expansive circles of friends, she was known for her intelligent humor, generous heart, and adventurous spirit. She loved to travel, having lived in four different countries across three continents. She will be fondly remembered and tremendously missed by all who knew her. Special Olympian Christopher J. McClam loved his Uncle Howie Liebengood, enjoyed spending time with him, displayed great joy and confidence in learning new things, and traveled everywhere with him. Simply put, Howie loved Christopher and supported him in every way, especially through Special Olympics. This campaign honors Howie's life and his passion to see that Christopher and other beautiful souls with intellectual disabilities experience happiness, celebration, and friendship.

2023 let’s go!!! Teamwork makes the dream work! I chose to raise money for the Special Olympics because I am a strong believer of “keeping your body in motion” . I am currently serving on Active Duty within the United States Army,I am dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in our communities across the globe and how we view sports and our athletes! I am hosting this fundraiser on enhancing our awareness of inclusion and sustaining the mindset of NEVER placing limitations on ability, determination and discipline. I strongly support staying active mentally, physically and within our community to create a large sphere of positive influence. No matter where you are in life, you should always strive to stay active. The Special Olympics has held a huge place in my heart for many years, I believe it takes courage to compete and these individuals do not let anything stop them from giving their all. Their tenacity and drive to win fuels and inspires others especially me! They are why I chose the Special Olympics to be my beneficiary of this great amount. In May 2020, Ben learned how to ride his bike! He found freedom on two wheels and hasn't looked back since. After several bike rides around the neighborhood and along the lakefront, we set up a challenge for ourselves. How many consecutive days could we ride our bikes? We started our streak on 7/31/20. Our first goal - 50 days - came and went pretty quickly. It's hard to believe, but now we are approaching one FULL YEAR of biking together. We made it through the winter (including 3 weeks of sub-zero temps in February!) and are gearing up for our final days. It's been a great experience for us and we are grateful that our bodies allow us to do this. But, what if we could share our blessings with other kids for whom biking presents a challenge? Please join Ben and I in celebrating our 365 days of bike riding by making a donation to the Special Olympics. It is our hope that we can make biking and physical activity easier and accessible for all kids. Ben has lofty goals. Rumor has it his parents will match all donations up to $2500 #bikingwithBen

On Friday December 3rd at 515pm, the F45 Lincoln Park North Trainers are ready to have the members put them through an intense, sweaty 45-minute F45 workout. F45 workouts are just as challenging for the trainers as they are to the members. Now it's time to let the members have some fun by pushing the trainers' limits and giving them a taste of their own medicine! Donations will be made to the Special Olympics. Fitness is crucial for living a healthier lifestyle and we want to help fund equipment, training, and health screenings for athletes in need.

As one of the philanthropy chairmen of Phi Sigma Kappa at the University of Maryland, I am proud to display our dunk tank event inspired by the Polar Bear Plunge. I am particularly excited to be a part of such an event, as I had volunteered as a mentor within Special Olympics for three years and found it one of the most memorable and impactful experiences of my life. For those who cannot be at the event and would still wish to donate, I encourage using this page to further benefit the efforts of the Special Olympics organization.

An athlete is an athlete is an athlete. Anyone who chooses to move, to play, and to compete through sport deserves the opportunity to do that with the best equipment, the best facilities, and with the full support of a community. WoodWind Park is dedicated to using play to support causes bigger than us. There are so many very important people in our lives who love to engage in sport and they have been able to do that because the Special Olympics has provided an opportunity for them to do so. We support volunteers, families and the athletes themselves and we truly could not think of a better entity to support with the proceeds from our WinterFest Play it Forward Snow Obstacle Race than the Special Olympics. We will be physically playing it forward on Saturday, February 19th in Otter Creek, WI on the hills and ice rink at WoodWind Park, but we will encourage those who cannot attend in person to support participants with online donations. Hey Everyone! As many of you know my brother has Down Syndrome. We have been involved with Special Olympics in one way or another throughout most of his life. We see the joy and compassion this organization brings to people with disabilities. It is something I have a personal connection to and would love your support! I am on a journey to complete a 100 mile trail race in Tennessee on April 3rd. I am putting together a fundraiser/pledge for an "adopt a mile" type of support for Special Olympics. For every mile I complete, I am seeking pledge support. Example, if you pledge $1 per mile, max donation would be $100. $0.25 per mile, it would be $25, ECT... I will post updates at the completion of the race on how many miles I complete (hopefully finish!) and then donations can be made. Thank you for your consideration!!

I support Special Olympics for my brother, Joshua, who has Cerebral Palsy. He has been involved with Special Olympics for nearly 30 years as an athlete in track, bowling and swimming. He will represent Special Olympics USA this June in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany, competing in bowling. Josh is not only my baby brother but he also got the voice in the family and is a very talented singer and has performed the United States national anthem at a United States Embassy event hosted in the Philippines and at the opening ceremony for the summer games in South Carolina where the local news featured him in their broadcast. The phrase, “be brave in the attempt,” of the Special Olympics athlete oath has changed Josh’s life, reminding him that his disabilities are also his greatest strengths. This is an amazing organization and I am very proud to support it, along with my family. Please consider donating to help all of these wonderful people " be brave in the attempt".
