Each year for my birthday, I like to take on a fun challenge or plan a big outdoor adventure. This year I have decided to do a 12 hour race called Jackrabbit Jubilee. Since it’s pretty dang hot in Arizona in August, the race runs through the night, starting at 7pm and ending at 7am. You run as much as you can or want to in 12 hours on a short 1/2 mile loop course, stopping as needed to eat or rest. My primary goal is to run at least 34 miles to celebrate 34 years. Once past that distance I will shoot for 40 which would be my longest distance yet. Heck if that feels good we’ll go for 50. This kind of race is a huge challenge for me, I hate repetition. And birthdays are pretty arbitrary, they don’t motivate me that much. So I’ve decided that I’ll do it in support of Special Olympics. Please support me and help me raise $3400 on my 34th birthday. Why Special Olympics? My brother Joe loves sports, playing and watching them. Special Olympics has made it possible for him to be an athlete, experience team sports, and find friends to play basketball, soccer, bowling and more with. Jennifer spent her life as a caring and nurturing person who never expected anything in return. She worked as a functional academics teacher aid at Harrison Hill elementary and before becoming ill she did respite care for Noble of Indiana. John Maccoux was a GIANT of a man (6’8”) and had a heart to match it. The man would do anything for anybody and had many skills to share with others. I once witnessed him literally giving the shirt off his back to a stranger. He truly was a gentle giant, a good friend and a loving father/grandpa. John has a brother (Greg)with special needs so he was involved with Special Olympics early on in his life. John liked to coach all sorts of sports as well. His passion being basketball & everything his kids were in (Sacsha, Jordan, Tanner & Landen)

The Special Olympics are near and dear to our hearts. Part of the reason I chose to become a Special Education teacher was because of my mom's role in Special Olympics. It is a wonderful organization! I utilized it (free of cost!) when I taught in the US to help my students learn and grow. And learned so much about competition, following rules, trying their best, encouraging others, and so much more!

Now because of Covid-19 we are now limited to Online fundraising which is a bummer for getting the Pullman community involved, but me and my brothers of Phi Sigma Kappa are taking initiative and seeking an opportunity from Pandemic to have a larger and more significant outreach. We as a family and community all share a significant experiences, connections and love with special needs kids, adults and athletes who we just want to help in anyway we can so they can have a life full of smiles and support. We as a Chapter are Damn Proud to be supporting this amazing organization who have given many people hopes, dreams and aspirations to feel like a super star.

Ralph loved to pay it forward. Throughout his 50 years of teaching, he had great passion for individuals with intellectual disabilities. They brought him great joy. Because of this, we are choosing to honor him and his volunteer work at the 2010 2nd Annual Special Olympics U.S. National Summer Games and thus our goal of $2010.

On June 26, 2019, Rick Lawrence, APF Chairman for the State of Florida passed suddenly. He was involved in the Powerlifting community for many years. In October of 2018, it was announced that in April of 2019, AAPF Nationals was including a Special Olympics division in which was held in Myrtle Beach, SC. Approximately, 8 athletes competed both in the AAPF Nationals and the AWPC Worlds held in April and August of 2019. As these lifters were on that platform lifting their hearts out, Rick was at center of attention cheering them on. This was one of the best things that could have happened to the APF/AAPF. This is a fundraiser to help these Special athletes achieve their dreams in Rick's honor.

I started out with the idea to run the Nationwide Children’s marathon as a way to challenge myself mentally and physically. I quickly realized that my effort and time can be better put to use by donating to a charitable organization. 360 Hazardous & Yorkville Police Department To show our appreciation & support for our men & women in blue, 360 Hazardous & The Yorkville Police Department are partnering to host a 1st Responder Appreciation Event called, Operation Sanitization on Wednesday, October 20th! The 360 team will be cleaning & sanitizing ALL police & fire service vehicles throughout Kendall County. This fundraiser is open for any individual, organization, or community who would like to show their appreciation for our 1st responders & aspiring athletes! Any contribution is greatly appreciated. The F45 Lincoln Park North trainers are ready to have the members put them through an intense 45 minute workout. We are all in this together, and the F45 workouts are just as challenging for us as they are to the members! Now it's time to let the members have some fun by pushing us to our limits!
