Connect Chicago Alliance has set up this fundraiser in Mike Doucette's honor. This organization was selected as a way to honor his memory because the mission of Special Olympics means a lot to his family. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

February 28 — March 4 Grandview High School will be hosting Pledge Respect Week. As a school, we work to find Unity, Respect, and Friendship. With your donations, Special Olympics Colorado will be able to purchase new equipment for our athletes. In memory of our sister, Kathleen Gibbons, we are raising funds for an organization that made a difference in her life. She won three Special Olympics medals in high school, helped dedicate a Special Olympics stamp, and was a friend of Tim Shriver, President of Special Olympics. We are having our first annual Weed Man basketball game with FRI group vs LND group on April 23rd 2022. The purpose of this game is to raise awareness and money for the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a great organization that helps athletes with disabilities find enjoyment outside of their normal day to day. When traveling to these events, you can tell how much fun these athletes are having with the giant smiles on their faces. The Special Olympics are just that….special. You will not find a more positive, encouraging, and hard working group of athletes. I’ve signed up for a 100 mile race on Labor Day weekend and I want to use that effort to raise funds for Williams County Special Olympics. The Special Olympics have been making Olympic dreams come true for otherwise-abled athletes since 1968. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Local Special Olympics are held in every major city, but sometimes the athlete needs to do some fundraising in order to get there, to get the proper equipment or uniform/costume in order to make their dreams of gold come true. Fundraising can be challenging, but these athletes are used to challenges.

Pam Levy Pam Levy passed away peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2023. Pam enjoyed her time participating in the Special Olympics playing Bocce, Basketball and Bowling. She was excited when she would receive a medal but would make it known that she really preferred a gold one! To honor Pam we are sharing the opportunity, if you can, to make a donation to the Special Olympics in her name. If monies are not an option, please consider volunteering at one of their local events. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

It's what my older sister who passed away and one of her wishes was to donate money to the special Olympics because she loved people and she loved to help special people. So in her memory I want to fulfill her wish.

Garden Bros Nuclear Circus is donating $1.00 from every Box Office ticket sale to Special Olympics (Ohio). Our circus is coming to Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds (May 20-23-21) and Summit County Fairgrounds (May 27-31-21)! Our performers practice and train to put smiles on the faces of our spectators, just like all the dedicated Special Olympic Athletes.

RPS has a culture of teamwork, empathy, and taking the initiative. This culture is built on the foundation of our shared values, some of which state: “We all need one another. We are all cogs in a wheel,” “Empathy for the other person is not a weakness,” “We adhere to the highest standards of moral and ethical behavior,” and “We run to problems, not away from them.” That last one, Adam Mazan, Vice President Pacific Region, and his team in southern California took quite literally. They were looking to make an impact. They were looking to be Better Together, but how? Adam and his team settled upon the idea of a charity run. However, it wouldn’t be any standard 5K or half-marathon…or even a full marathon. To make a difference, they were looking to be different. Run 36 miles in 36 hours! Work some, then run some. Eat. Sleep. Work. Run. Repeat! Join us in supporting Adam and his team as they become Better Together and run to benefit some of their favorite charities. Some team members plan on running all 36 miles themselves, while others will be doing it as a relay team. This team proves that when you work together, you can make things better!

Hello! My name is Jairah Godoy. I have been part of the Special Olympics Hawaii Team since 1997. Special Olympics has been a place where I can be myself and also enjoy participating in sports year-round to stay fit and be part of a group with others just like me. Please help me for this season’s sport of Bowling by donating to our Bowl-A-Thon. We need to raise funds by September 15, 2022 and your help is always greatly appreciated!

Hi, my name is Hailey Smolanoff, head of the Hailey's Shooting Stars team. On May 20, 2023, I am making my Bat Mitzvah and I am so excited. A Bat Mitzvah is when a 13-year-old Jewish girl is seen as an “adult” in her community. Part of being an “adult” is not just thinking of oneself, but of others as well. A demonstration of this is through a mitzvah project. Cheerleading is a HUGE part of my life. I’m a very active person, love sports, and have a huge support system through my cheer family and close friends. Therefore, for my mitzvah project, I have chosen to share in the joy of giving back by forming a team (Hailey’s Shooting Stars) and will be hosting a Hoop-A-Thon in my town to raise money for the Special Olympics. I’ve chosen the Special Olympics because I would love nothing more than to help those who may have a physical or mental obstacle be given the opportunity to share in the same joy and love I have for cheer and many of the other sports I’ve played, as well as be a part of a team who loves and respects you unconditionally. I’d like to sincerely thank my CMS Cheer Family, my unbelievable friend group, my amazing family, and all those who choose to pledge and support my team as we work towards our goal!!!

I chose to start joining and helping with the special Olympics in 4th grade. I beleive no matter what you may seem, someone always has potential. I want to help make that potential spark. I also love to see a smile on others faces. That's why i started.

With the start of my Law Enforcement career since 2019, I have been honored to be a part of the Special Olympics fundraising and Law enforcement Torch Run Events. It is a joy to be able to contribute volunteer hours, and working hours within my respective Agency at a local Sheriff's Office to fundraise for these amazing athletes. I've had the great pleasure, especially within the difficult year of 2020/2021 to have met some of our local athletes here in Brighton, Colorado. This fundraising will help the athletes maintain their Olympics clothing, transportation, etc!

Growing up, my parents taught me to use what I am good at for the right reasons and having a family member who has special needs makes this a very personal movement for me. I am raising money for Special Olympics by participating in Spartan Races hoping, with the efforts from myself and a team, to support my sister and others like her to keep them active and involved in sports. We are very thankful for your donations and support while we conquer these races through the 2020 Spartan Series.

Because helping people in need is always a good thing to do.
