The Samurai Shodown community is dedicated to supporting a strong and inclusive competitive spirit for all players. Through a community driven effort, the Issen Madness event will provide learning opportunities for new gamers, will promote healthy competition among players, and will provide opportunities for to better serve our growing community. The Special Olympics is an organization that understands the importance of providing coaching and competitive opportunities for athletes and space for communities to develop that competitive spirit we all cherish. By supporting our event, and by supporting the Special Olympics, you continue to foster that spirit for the next round of fighters whoever they may be.
I learned the importance of the work Special Olympics does through my involvement with Unified Basketball and Bowling teams at Penfield High School. I want to help as many children as possible achieve their dreams.

Hi, My name is Leah Doucot and I'm a senior in high school. For my senior project I researched the effects of physical activity on children with and without disability, and I was going to host a unified basketball game. But with the unseen circumstances of the new reality I decided to have a series of social media challenges and a fundraiser. If you would like to follow or try some challenges the accounts are below: Instagram - @getup_goactive TikTok - @getup_goactive
The Special Olympics has been such a HUGE part of my family for as long as I can remember. From track meets to soccer games, my brother is incredibly competitive and LOVES sports more than anything. Special Olympics gives him the place to shine doing what he loves to do. Every year he looks forward to being on a team (and really loves getting those gold medals!), and the biggest smiles I see on his face are when he's participating in these events. This organization is so much more than medals and sports, it allows us to celebrate those who are different and make them feel valued for who they are. Please consider donating to this amazing cause so we can continue to create an inclusive world where people aren't shunned because of their disabilities, but are instead seen as beacons of hope.
We wanted to create a special experience while raising money for a special organization! Donate what you'd like! Please know that 100% of the donations go toward the Special Olympics.
Special Olympics is a great cause that allows all athletes to participate in the sports that they love. Having personally volunteered, this a great organization that gives individuals the chance to participate in sports that they would usually not have. Please consider a donation to this amazing organization, by donating you are providing an amazing opportunity to these great athletes. Thank you.

William (Billy) Fierstein, Sean Greenspan, and Jason Heyn Our three man team of childhood friends will be attempting the 4 State Challenge Hike. Our goal is to hike 44 miles of the Appalachian Trail over the course of 24 hours. We will begin our hike on December 29, 2020 at Pen Mar County Park in Pennsylvania, moving through Maryland, West Virginia, and finishing at the Weverton Cliffs parking lot in Virginia on December 30, 2020. We want to partner with the Special Olympics to raise money as we attempt this feat. The three of us are lifelong athletes who grew up playing recreational and team sports. Being an athlete and part of teams has taught us invaluable lessons such as the importance of teamwork, goal setting, and determination. As a Special Educator in the public school system, I have seen firsthand how budget cuts and a lack of access to resources for individuals with differing abilities can negatively impact these young adults. Too often these programs are unavailable or too costly for many families and a whole population of people are missing out on the benefits of sports because of it. We believe that the Special Olympics provides a service that has an immeasurable impact on their athletes, families, and friends in the community. Sports bring together a diverse group of people promoting friendships and relationships rarely cultivated in other areas of life. We believe we have an opportunity to highlight the amazing work done by the Special Olympics organization; by pushing ourselves physically, in turn, our friends and family will push themselves to donate to this great cause!
The Special Olympics was always a cause near and dear to Terry's heart. She loved volunteering for the Special Olympic events at her job while working at AHRC. In lieu of flowers we ask a donation, no matter what size, be made in her name for this honorable cause. Thersa M Geher 2/17/50-12/2/20
Sam and I want to give back to celebrate our wedding. Any donation big or small will mean so much to us!
Hi, my name is Ruby Erstein. For my Bat Mitzvah project I chose to raise money for the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is the largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Their goal is to help people with disabilities find joy and become more confident in their lives and on the field. I have always had a special connection with sports, especially soccer which is my favorite sport. I think it’s important to give everyone an opportunity to play sports while feeling good about themselves. Please consider donating to this cause. Thanks! Ruby
Welcome to our team page: UWSP Pointers for Special Olympics! Hello! Thank you for visiting our page! For over 9.5 years, NCAA Division III has nurtured a partnership with Special Olympics that we hold dear to our hearts. UWSP's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has created a team for the 2021 Polar Plunge: Chillin' at Home. While we can't jump into icy waters this year at the actual Polar Plunge, we're making our own fun at home and still showing the athletes of Special Olympics Wisconsin that they have our support! After our fundraising is complete, we will be compiling a video of representatives from our athletic teams participating in creative ways to take the plunge (taking an ice bath, dropping a bucket of ice water on ourselves while performing our favorite TikTok dance, making swimsuit snow angels, having a winter water balloon fight, etc.) that will be shared with our family, friends, and supporters. Special Olympics athletes not only break down barriers to build communities of inclusion, but they spread light wherever they go, and they inspire us to be the best versions of ourselves. We are very grateful and blessed to have a partnership with Special Olympics, and we strive to advocate their amazing mission. Please consider joining or making a donation to our team for this great event! The cost to support one athlete for one year is $757--help us reach our goal! We greatly appreciate you and your generosity! Thank you, UWSP SAAC

I am a regular guy that has always been inspired by these amazing athletes that show so much heart. I would like to run a mile for every $10 donated to raise money for the Special Olympics. I chose the Special Olympics because they give these great athletes the opportunities to show the world that they are champions.

Nicole, "Nicky," "Pesh," or "Pesce," was a force to be reckoned with on the soccer and softball fields, and basketball and volleyball courts. You name it, Nicole was the one to look out for! When Pesce got in game-mode, there was nothing but leadership and dedication for the game at hand. Pesce enjoyed the camaraderie that came along with team sports and some of her dearest friendships blossomed from it. This is why Pesce would be proud for donations to be made in her name to the Special Olympics as she would love for others to be able to experience the joy that sports brought to her life. Pesh, we love you.
As I leave for the Naval Academy, I want to invite friends and family to donate to a cause I've always felt inclined to support... The Special Olympics. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the athletes of the Special Olympics and those with the Special Olympics in their dreams. I would love to see more equity between the Special Olympics and mainstream Olympics in my lifetime. I invite you to help "empower athletes to shatter stereotypes and exceed their personal bests on the playing field, in the pool and in life!" Thank you for your consideration.
In honor of my Grampy, Edward Becerra, I decided to raise money for Special Olympics this year for my birthday. My Grampy lost his battle to COVID May 20th, 2021. My Grampy was a dreamer and nothing gave him greater joy than watching people overcome obstacles and achieve whatever they set their minds to. This organization is one that held a special place in his heart and he donated often. Though he may be gone, his goals to make this world a better place live on and my intentions are to pick up where he left off. The funds raised towards Special Olympics will be donated in his name and memory. No donation is too small and all are greatly appreciated. God Bless You!
It’s Olympic spirit week at Orangetheory Fitness! What better way to be apart of something so great and wonderful! We are accepting donations to give to the special Olympics! These wonderful athletes work and train so hard to give all they have into their craft. Let’s support them and make sure we are doing our part to ensure they have everything they need to be safe and successful when competing!! Thank you!!
Thank you for contributing to this special time in our lives by donating to the Special Olympics.

As many of you know, our daughter’s horse slipped and fell on her rounding a barrel during practice last week. It crushed her left foot and put an immediate stop to many of the competitive activities she spends most of her time practicing daily (cross country, basketball, rodeo). She has surgery this week and a 3-4 month (hopefully) recovery ahead of her. Since her injury, I have been so proud of her positive attitude and outlook. It’s going to be a difficult few months, but we want to help her make something great come from the situation. As parents, it’s easy to focus on all that your kid is missing when life throws him/her a curveball like this and even start a pity party. Well, we want to completely flip the script during her recovery and help an organization that gives hope to kids and adults with intellectual disabilities through training and competition. Special Olympics gives these athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. I am pledging to run/walk/bike 100 miles during her recovery and am asking for your help with making these miles matter. If we can get $10 donated for every mile, we will reach our goal of raising $1000 for Special Olympics of Arkansas. Please join us in donating for #milesthatmatter!
As of November 2nd I am asking that you go to https://give.classy.org/TWJosephSamuel to donate. Team Wisconsin would like all of the team members to fund raise on the same site. Thank you everyone! 100% of the money on either site will go to special olympics Joe
