I chose the Special Olympics because they give these great athletes the opportunities to show the world that they are champions.

Please help us honor the life of Haynes S. Topsale with a donation to Special Olympics. Haynes passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday June 9, 2021 in Philadelphia PA at the age of 40. Haynes is the son of James and Aquanetta Topsale and brother to William Topsale. He was a beloved friendly spirit with a passion for the Eagles and WVU football. Haynes worked for Temple University Health System as an Integration Analysts and Programmer. He will be missed by his loving family and friends. Please remember the family and friends of Haynes in your prayers.

I am currently serving on Active Duty within the United States Army,I am dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in our communities across the globe and how we view sports and our athletes! I am hosting this fundraiser on enhancing our awareness of inclusion and sustaining the mindset of NEVER placing limitations on ability, determination and discipline. Each year with our Vacation Bible School, we participate in a service project that embodies our love for our siblings in Christ. He really enjoyed the friends he made and the smiles on the Olympians faces when he announced their names and they received their medals. He passed away December 27, 2021 and the family and friends and others would like everyone to give to the Special Olympics in his honor and memory

For the last year 10 years, I have volunteered for the Special Olympics and this foundation means the world to me! For my 35th Birthday this year… I am asking for a small amount of generosity to help support the future generation of children! Sports have always been one of the biggest parts of my life, and playing sports is something that I truly love. I believe that children of all abilities should get to have the opportunity to play sports. That is why for my Bat Mitzvah project I am raising money for the Special Olympics of New Jersey. The Special Olympics is an organization that raises money and provides training for those with intellectual disabilities that want to play sports. I believe that talent comes in so many different forms, and just because someone has a disability, it does not mean they are not talented. Some major benefits of this program are self-confidence and social skills. No amount is too small, and every dollar is greatly appreciated by this organization. The donations are used towards special equipment and great trainers for the kids. My hope is that the funds that I raise can help to give children with disabilities the opportunity to build their love for sports, increase their confidence, have a ton of fun, and make some new friends along the way. May is pseudo-National Runners month; every year, I do a " May we run" challenge and try to beat my miles totals from the last year. Something that inspires me to stay active is the incredible athletes that participate in the Special Olympics. So I'm challenging myself to donate 2$ for every mile I run in May through June 2nd, which is National runners day. A group of Grand Valley State University students and I are collecting donations to allow all deserving Special Olympics basketball teams to attend the local District 11 tournament. This program will enable athletes to compete in Unified team play. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities to compete together on the same team. Every year teams are left out due to financial restrictions; thus, members of Special Olympics are missing out on valuable life experiences. Life After This It began as a band challenge to take the Polar Plunge for The Special Olympics. Then we wanted to challenge other area bands to participate with us. But it wasn't meant to be this year, as one of our members was on a cruise that day, another had a baby a few week prior, and another's wife was due that week! In memoriam of Leslie Raber, I wanted to create a way to celebrate her legacy with a fundraiser benefiting the Special Olympics. This organization was a big part of Leslie's life. She was crowned Miss Special Olympics in 1982, as well as, she participated in the International Special Olympics games. Leslie loved sports and to name a few, she participated in gymnastics, hockey, skiing and tennis. Leslie touched all of our lives and may her spirit live within in us. Love you Leslie!

Dale Grabill had a great time in her life participating in the special olympics. She especially loved the swimming and bowling. Overall, she was a social butterfly and loved being around people. I am a Key Club LTG for the Cardinal Division in the Indiana District. Every year, each LTG picks an organization and does a project to help benefit the community they serve. I chose Special Olympics because their mission is very close to my heart. Growing up and all through elementary school, one of my really close friends had Down Syndrome and Special Olympics provided her the opportunity to play sports and meet other friends. Special Olympics provides so many people with incredible opportunities, so I think it is super important to provide them with the tools they need to keep making this large impact!
