This summer, Otis is empowering interns to contribute social impact via Community Service Week, from June 28th to July 2nd. As a remote intern, I wanted to organize something that the whole team globally could participate in! My education through College was in Special Education so I spent several years being a Special Ed teacher and then volunteering one on one with Special Needs Children. I believe that the “Special Olympics” is a beautiful opportunity for special needs children to feel success and be a part of a team! This is a cause near and dear to my heart.

Austin Head's Bootcamp is so much more than just a workout. It's about pushing ourselves to achieve physical fitness, grow in confidence, expand our belief in what is possible, and deepen relationships. Twelve years I started as a volunteer coach with UCLA Special Olympics. I’m so grateful for the memories I’ve made throughout the years as a volunteer and being able to meet talented athletes not only in California but other cities I’ve called home in New York and Florida too. For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to Special Olympics Florida. I've chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. We have many engagement opportunities at ibex, one of the largest is ibex Cares. Every year at each of our sites around the world, we dedicate ourselves to bringing awareness to a specific charity. This year our Pittsburgh, Pa. site, through the leadership of Dir. Jason Vaught, has decided to focus on the Special Olympics. Jason Vaught has a long relationship with Special Olympics stretching back several decades! He has brought his passion working with Special Olympics to ibex and our first fundraiser supported the Polar Plunge 2023! I started out with the idea to run the Nationwide Children’s marathon as a way to challenge myself mentally and physically.
