It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
I love donating to Special Olympics because I want to help the children living with a disability so they can have a chance to play like other kids. They overcome great obstacles to compete, and it fills my heart with joy.

Every year, the new members of Xi Epsilon choose a cause important to them for the sorority to fundraise for in our annual Floozapalooza philanthropy event. This year, our new class chose the Special Olympics as a cause near to their hearts:"Growing up, I have always helped the special needs children in church and school so it’s something I hold dear to my heart. I feel like children with special needs and diasabilities get over looked a lot, and we heard about that funding for this cause has decreased we wanted to take action. The Special Olympics is so important because it gives people with special needs the opportunity to show everyone that they can do anything, even with a disability."

My name is Carli Freedman. My friend Julianna Miller and I are very interested and involved in special education. Julianna is a Special Education major at West Chester University, and I am a Public Health major at West Chester University. Juliana and I have tons of work for special education such as special olympics, variety club camp, which is a camp for kids with disabilities, and top soccer which raises money for kids in need. We are also in Best Buddies at West Chester, which is a club for autism. We would like to raise money to help the kids in need. We will be taking donations from now until May, and in May our event will consist of a party, with food drinks and raffles that all get donated to the Special Olympics.

My son Jesse participates every year in the Special Olympics. This year I want to be able to help not only my son but others with special needs to be able to participate in this awesome event. With your donations you would not only be helping Jesse but others like him. Your donations will help with transportation, any equipment that they will need for the events. I want to thank you in advance for your donations and help.
Curtis Bickham My daughter has Down Syndrome, I'm hoping one day she will participate in the Special Olympics. I designed this shirt to help support the current athletes. The shirt changes graphics as it gets wet. I think it would be a perfect addition to the Polar Plunge.

Growing up, my parents taught me to use what I am good at for the right reasons and having a family member who has special needs makes this a very personal movement for me. I am raising money for Special Olympics by participating in Spartan Races hoping, with the efforts from myself and a team, to support my sister and others like her to keep them active and involved in sports. We are very thankful for your donations and support while we conquer these races through the 2020 Spartan Series.
