On Saturday, October 3rd I will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer, and I hope you'll make a contribution in support! Above is the selfie photo from last year's swim. This year I'll be at a different pool wearing a different mask, but still wearing a mask! All of WCRC's services are provided 100% free of charge -- and are 100% funded by charitable giving. Thanks for checking out my "Swim a Mile for Women With Cancer" fundraising page. I am thrilled to participate in this event for the fourth year in a row. As you may remember, each year I swim in memory of my beautiful sister, Beth who continues to inspire me to help others, and face each day with courage and hope. Your donation will help the Women's Cancer Resource Center in Berkeley, CA provide free services to women with cancer in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thank you for your continued friendship and generous support of the Swim A Mile!
I am excited to be joining the Happy Swimmers Team this year. While my sister, daddy, aunt and cousins will be swimming a mile at Mills College on 10/3/21, I will be paddle boarding for a mile to raise fund for WCRC this year. Please help me to reach my fundraising goal! Go Happy Swimmers!! Thanks for checking out our team page! Team Happy Swimmers is back at it again this year to support the Women's Cancer Resource Center. This October, we will each be swimming a mile to raise funds to support women with cancer. We are excited to be able to raise funds for such a wonderful organization by doing something we all love—swimming! Your donation will help provide free services to women with cancer in the Bay Area, and your support means more than ever during these difficult times. Thank you for your generous support of our Swim A Mile / Move A Mile!

It was two years on August 12 that I started swimming again. I decided soon thereafter to attain the goal of swimming a mile. As I did in 2019 This year, I again will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer, and I hope you'll make a contribution in support of my Swim! I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to swim at Mill's College, as I did in 2019. I am doing this in loving memory of Annie Kennedy and Liza Smith, two dear friends who passed away in 2020. I also swim in memory of Debbie Friedkin, Lori Hope, Jaime Tucker and Laurel Zien. On October 2nd I will be participating in the Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer. After missing last year I'm so excited to be back - and swimming with my Brother in Law, Paul, too! This will be my...8th? 9th year? I'm losing count! I originally found this swim years ago when looking for something motivational to do with all of my lap swimming, not knowing how affected I'd be personally, years later losing my own mom to cancer. My mom was always my biggest supporter of anything water & swim-related. She's the reason I became a life guard and then a certified swim instructor, ensuring super fun summers for years! Then I worked for her through college when she was the recreation & pool director at a YWCA in Philadelphia. I also followed my parents' steps and became certified in scuba diving through PADI. When I moved to San Francisco and took up swimming in the bay, my mom was always the first person I'd call to chat with on the drive back from the cold water and when I finally swam Alcatraz, she was so proud of me. Likewise for the open water Triathlons I've completed. She didn't quite understand my love of the cold water but she was there for it. And of course she was with me every time I swam for the WCRC. She was even in town and attended one year with me. I miss her so much, and I owe my love of the water to her (and my dad of course). And not only does swimming this mile make me happy, it brings so much support to this organization supporting women with cancer. We have been swimming together since preschool. We are now taking our love of swimming to the next level and teaming up to help our local community by raising money for women with cancer. On October 3rd, Ava and I will be swimming a mile side by side in WCRC's annual swim a mile event. Please consider supporting this amazing cause by making a donation to our fundraiser and cheering us on as we swim towards a cure to cancer. All proceeds benefit cancer survivors and fighters in the Bay Area. GO WAVE RIDERS MERMAIDS!!

Dear friends and family, During the weekend of October 2/3, 2021, I will be participating in my 15th Annual Swim A Mile / Move A Mile for Women with Cancer, supporting the Women's Cancer Resource Center (WCRC).
