Hard to believe, but our first game vs Swarthmore College is fewer than 80 days away. Our student athletes are wrapping off a strong first semester both on & off the field, and we are excited about the upcoming season. We are traveling to Baltimore, Maryland for a game against Emerson College during spring break. This game will be at historic Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University on March 12. We are planning on travelling to Annapolis, for the 3 days before to train and do some team bonding. We are also seeking funds to equip the team with a second helmet - this has become a major recruiting factor in D3 lacrosse. Our staff gets asked about a second helmet regularly in the recruiting process. Prospective student athletes want the program they choose to have two helmets, and our current players are extremely excited about potentially having both helmets this spring. As always, we truly thank you for your continued support of Widener Lacrosse. GO PRIDE!

We have hit our second goal! Can you help us stretch to $6,500? Please help support our team as we are preparing to compete for a National Championship! Our nationally ranked Widener University Cheerleading team is traveling back to UCA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida in January 2024. This competition not only provides our team with an opportunity to represent Widener University at a national level, but also showcase their hard work, athleticism, and dedication to this program throughout the year. We will be competing in both the Open All Girl Division and Open All Girl Game Day Division. In the 2022-2023 season, our team brought home a second-place title in our traditional cheerleading routine and a tenth-place title in our game day division. As we begin to prepare for this pursuit of a national championship, we are asking for support for our costs of traveling, competition fees, lodging, etc. We are extremely grateful and thank you for all the support our athletes receive to make this trip a reality! Go Pride! We have hit our first goal! Can you help us stretch to our next goal of $5,000?

Ice Hockey

Our 2022-2023 Men’s Ice hockey team won the D3 American Division last year and placed 4th in the AAU hockey tournament. The team goal is to raise $10,000 to offset costs associated with increased transportation costs, increased ice time/rental costs, and new uniforms, associated with moving up from the D3 bracket to the D2 bracket. Your gift helps us build on our championship and grow the program and the game at Widener. Thank you!

Joseph Conner Endowed Scholarship

Can you help us reach our goal of $50,000 to endow this scholarship? On March 24, 2018, Joseph Conner, DPT passed away at the age of 27 from a brain aneurysm. Joe was a two-time Widener graduate and student-athlete who earned his bachelor's degree in biology, and later completed his doctorate in Physical Therapy. To honor the memory of Dr. Conner, Widener University, along with faculty, friends, and family, has established the Joseph David Conner DPT '12 '14 Scholarship in Physical Therapy. This scholarship will benefit students pursuing a doctorate in Widener's Physical Therapy program in the College of Health and Human Services, with a special emphasis on students participating in Widener University's pro-bono physical therapy clinic. As of December 1 we have raised $30,628 towards this fund - but we still need another $20,000 to reach the endowment level and ensure that this fund will exist forever. Will you help us get there? When you give, you can honor Joe's memory and create a legacy here at Widener by helping us to endow this scholarship, which will make a Widener PT education accessible to students from all walks of life. To learn how to make a gift by check, appreciated securities, or using your required minimum distribution from an IRA, visit our Ways to Give page. And you are always welcome to reach out by email at devoffc@widener.edu.
