Jen and I have chosen to support the CCF's Move 4 a Cure to help fund research on bile duct cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare form of cancer that deserves and needs attention so that we can help improve and save the lives of those affected by this disease. Please support our cause if you can. The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) is the only non-profit organization in North America exclusively dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected by cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Approximately 10,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year with this hard-to-diagnose, difficult-to-treat, fatal type of cancer. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare but deadly cancer that has very little name recognition or awareness. Due to this lack of visibility, it is often overlooked as symptoms can mimic those of other illnesses and diagnosis comes too late. Conventional cancer treatments remain ineffective against cholangiocarcinoma, and most people diagnosed with advanced disease have less than a 5% chance of surviving at least five years. While almost 2 out of 3 people with bile duct cancer are 65 or older, people of nearly any age can be diagnosed. There has been an alarming increase in the past decade of young individuals being diagnosed in their 20’s, 30’s or 40’s.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma April 2021 and it really turned our world upside down with the devastating news. My mom and our family has been through a lot since then, but we continue to pray, stay hopeful, positive and take it one day at a time. My mom is hands down the strongest person I know, she continues to fight hard everyday and is the most determined, strong willed person we know. While mom continues with her chemo treatments each week, her body remains strong. The cancer is staying stable which means it hasn't spread or grown, this is still a win. This year I will be fundraising and joining Moving for the Cure! Please consider donating to this cause and helping me reach my goal. Thank You!
