2022goatgamesTheresaCrawford Hey Everyone! Please donate through my team page! My athletic challenge will be to use my screaming goat toy everywhere I go on August 13. Help Team Iowa Farm Sanctuary take home the gold! Join as an athlete who raises money OR you can carry the torch as a donor. Either way, YOU are a champion for the animals! Be sure to spread the word to your friends, family and co-workers so they can get in on the fun! Everything you need to know about The Goat Games can be found here in the FAQs. We’re all in this together as a team! You can help encourage others by printing our team bib, posting on social media with the #TheGoatGames2022, and showing all the fun and creative ways that you’re going for the gold! Meet IFS Team Captain Pickle! Pickle is an itty bitty goat with a gigantic spirit who came to IFS with rear limb paresis when she was just a few days old -- she was small enough to be mistaken for a kitten! Since welcoming Pickle in January 2021, she has made incredible progress. You'd never even know she had mobility difficulties when she was a baby! She overcame all odds and now has full use of all of her legs. Nowadays, Pickle is a happy, curious, and energetic little soul. She always has important business to attend to. If she pauses to give you a few moments of her time, you’re very fortunate—baby girl has stuff to do and places to be! She’s the most perfect Pickle in the world. IFS is Iowa's original vegan sanctuary for farmed animals. We're strategically located in the epicenter of modern animal agriculture, helping farmed animals where it is needed the most! Pickle and all of her rescued friends-- like Buddy, Annie, Fawn, and Angel are touching hearts near and far, inspiring people all around the world to act with compassion. This year is our first year participating in the Goat Games and we are ready to take home the GOLD! Our goal is to raise $25,000!!! As a sanctuary that is located in the heart of modern animal agriculture, we receive inquiries daily about farm animals in desperate need of rescue--many with special care needs like Pickle. All funds raised will help us carry out our mission of rescuing farm animals in need, as well as making sure that our current residents are living the dream! Join the dream team and swim, run, walk or bike! Pickle is READY to parkour her way to victory! About Iowa Farm Sanctuary At Iowa Farm Sanctuary, we provide a safe haven to rescued farm animals in need of love and compassion while providing humans the opportunity to experience the unique sentience and intelligence found within these animals.

Team Wildwood is in it to win it! Everything you need to know about The Goat Games can be found here in the FAQs. We’re all in this together as a team! You can help encourage others by printing our team bib, posting on social media with the #TheGoatGames2022, and showing all the fun and creative ways that you’re going for the gold! From t-shirts, to hoodies, tank tops, long-sleeves, football jerseys and more! Choose your color and get your team shirt today. A race to save our sanctuary! This year's Goat Games is hugely important to Wildwood! We have to move from our current location and need funding to purchase or lease a new property. If we're able to secure a new home for our beloved animals, we'll consider that the biggest win of all. If we can't, your support will help us move our animals safely to new sanctuaries where they'll continue to be loved and cared for. Either way, we're counting on you to help us get through this enormous challenge! Now, onto the fun... Our 2022 team captain, Orin, is both an athlete and an inspiring leader. At 14 years of age, he's definitely the senior team captain of our goat herd here at Wildwood. He keeps everyone in line! He has the sweetest personality and is still very agile! He is taking his new job very seriously and demanding excellence from the team – no ifs, ands or buts about it. Well, maybe a few butts. Most of the animals at Wildwood had a pretty rough start in life. Many were rescued from factory farms, terrible abuse and neglect. Now, surrounded by love and good friends, they are free to be their sweet, sensitive, silly selves. Nothing makes the humans here happier than to see them engage in shenanigans and hijinks. About Wildwood Farm Sanctuary & Preserve Wildwood Farm Sanctuary & Preserve is an accredited, 501c3 farm animal sanctuary currently located in Newberg, Oregon. Since 2012, we have provided a safe haven for abused and abandoned farmed animals. We are looking for a new property to continue our mission of promoting compassion and inspiring change.

We’re excited to join fellow animal advocates and Sanctuaries in this fun-spirited event to raise awareness and shine a light on our collective mission: creating a more compassionate world for humans and animals. While we’re new to the Goat Games field this year, our roots run deep. Founded in 1986, we’ve provided refuge for thousands of animals and have educated millions of people each year about just, compassionate vegan living. Meet Team Captain Josie Mae aka “The Resilient.” Josie-Mae was born at a goat dairy farm. Due to an accident, her owner decided that she would never be "useful" there. That turned out to be just her luck! Josie-Mae and her mom, Willow, now live at Farm Sanctuary's New York shelter. Josie-Mae is a peppy and friendly goat, and her prosthetics help her explore and play to her heart’s delight! After a day of action, she loves spending some downtime cuddling with her mom. Sign up today with any activity of your choice to spread awareness and support animals like Josie-Mae! Like all animals, Josie-Mae deserves a chance at happiness. By participating in the Goat Games, you are helping make that a reality. About Farm Sanctuary For 36 years, Farm Sanctuary has provided a place of peace and refuge for thousands of rescued farm animals. Farm Sanctuary fights the disastrous effects of animal agriculture on animals, the environment, social justice, and public health through rescue, education, and advocacy. We seek to foster just and compassionate vegan living, and envision a world where Sanctuary replaces exploitation.

Alaqua Animal Refuge

I have a 'thing' for goats! I just love watching them prance and run around, and think they are so adorable. My profile picture is actually of Alaqua's Goat Games' Captain Hermione and me at a fundraiser from a few years to support Alaqua! Hermione was the fan favorite—everyone wanted to pet her and she even got to walk in the 'dog' parade! When I was about 10 or 11, I actually 'adopted' a baby goat named Bullet who lived at a friend's farm whom I got to bottle feed and hold from time to time! My 'thing' for goats expanded a few years ago when our area was hit by Hurricane Michael and Alaqua rescued and took in over 200 goats...half of whom were pregnant. I could not get enough of watching them eat, play, and even rest - and giving the babies much needed hugs! They are really loving animals and pets that need love and attention just like all of us! Please help me raise funds to support Alaqua in the 2022 Goat Games! It's easy - just help us carry the torch as a donor and be a champion Hermione and for all of Alaqua's sanctuary farm animals! for the animals! Meet Captain HermioneAlaqua's resident sanctuary goat—affectionately called "Squish" by everyone that meets her! She was surrendered to us with facial deformities that were most likely a birth defect. She has the sweetest personality and mannerisms. She loves dressing up, getting her picture made, being an Alaqua ambassador at our public events, and meeting new friends. A staff, volunteer, and visitor favorite, Hermione is most deserving to be our 2022 Goat Games Team Captain! Please join our team and help Hermione and Alaqua take home the Goat Games Gold! For the love of animals, we thank you—Ready, set, go!!! About Alaqua Animal Refuge We believe that every abused, neglected, and homeless animal deserves a second chance…at life, hope, happiness, and most of all, love. As the Southeast’s premier 501(c)3 no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary, we are committed to providing protection, shelter, and care to all types of animals in need. We have been described as being an incomparable haven on earth for rescued animals—from farm animals like goats and horses, to dogs and cats, to birds, pigs, and ducks. We even have a resident water buffalo and two emus! We socialize, love, and care for these animals as if they were our own. We have placed tens of thousands of animals into loving homes and environments and helped countless others through our partnerships and community outreach programs. We are currently in the midst of relocating and building a one-of-a-kind facility—the first in the United States—on 100 acres (an expansion from 10 acres). Our new facility and sanctuary will allow us to continue to do the important work of animal rescue and rehabilitation, as well as be an educational and training center for animal welfare advocates as a place that will inspire, empower, and educate others to make change in our society and recreate our model worldwide. Learn more about us at www.Alaqua.org.

Be sure to spread the word to your friends, family and co-workers so they can get in on the fun! Everything you need to know about The Goat Games can be found here in the FAQs. Thank you for joining Team Indraloka! The sanctuary provides "heaven on earth" for farm animals that have nowhere else to turn. Our mission is to inform, inspire and empower the community, especially children, on ways in which we can better care for ourselves and the environment while helping animals in need. We advocate for a kind and compassionate lifestyle that protects animals, the earth, and our own health. By participating in the Goat Games you are helping not only the hundreds of rescued farm animals and all who love and care for them, but the thousands of humans who visit them every year! Through our innovative education programs, humans of all ages have the chance to embrace compassion and fall in love with animals like Franklin, our 2022 Goat Games Captain. Franklin was found alone on a busy highway on New Year's Eve. When he was brought to Indraloka, his complete terror of humans kept him on high alert. He wouldn't even lay down to sleep and shook with fright whenever anyone was close. He was weak, fighting pneumonia and a double eye infection that was so severe, it temporarily blinded him. But after just days in the care of our staff, surrounded by love and gentle hands, Franklin's fear lessened and then disappeared completely. Now, he spends his days with 2 new friends, Oreo and Oliver, running in the pastures and playing with no cares at all. His mischievous personality keeps us all on our toes but he loves hugs and snuggles from visitors. By joining Team Indraloka, you have the opportunity to help goats like Franklin and his many friends of all species. Here’s how it works: Register as an athlete for Team Indraloka and commit to run, walk, hike, bike, swim, or do an activity of your choice, anytime between Friday, August 12 through Monday, August 15, 2022. Share your support with friends and family to raise funds for Indraloka. Donate to Indraloka! You can make a general donation to our Goat Games page or find an athlete to support. Either way, you’re making a difference for Franklin and his friends. However you choose to support the Goat Games, please know that your generosity is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your commitment to the animals!

Alaqua is so excited to participate in this year’s Goat Games! Meet our Team Captain Hermione—our resident sanctuary goat—affectionately called "Squish" by everyone that meets her! She was surrendered to us with facial deformities that were most likely a birth defect. She has the sweetest personality and mannerisms. We just can’t get enough of her!

Hello family and Friends: I plan to help Wildwood (which is also my place of employment!) by pushing myself out of complacency and game mastering a number of hours of Dungeons and Dragons! Henceforth my pledge is to run a half-hour of gameplay for every $50 that are donated to my Goat Games athlete page! I have a goal of $1000 which means the potential for a full 10 hours of goofy roleplaying and desperately needed experience building behind the game master screen (most likely split up over the weekend)! My donors can look forward to sneak peeks of what adventures or modules I plan on running, pictures of my table top setup including battle maps and miniatures as well as insight into the mysterious but wildly misunderstood culture of Dungeons and Dragons! I’m taking part in the 2022 Goat Games from Friday, August 12th through Monday, August 15th to help rescued farmed animals! The Goat Games is a virtual fundraiser for 13 animal sanctuaries across the country, and you can be a champion right where you live, work and play. I’ll be mooooo-ving to raise money for my favorite sanctuary and I’m asking for the support of friends and family to help me reach my goal! You can help me get the GOLD for animals by sending a gift through the “Support by Donating” button on this page. No contribution is too small, and every dollar you give will go towards providing safety, dignity, and love to farmed animals in need. Thank you for your kindness and generosity — and for making the world a more compassionate place for animals!

Shrek was our good luck leader for 2021 so we're going to stick with him as our boss goat for the Goat Games 2022. Shrek is the leader of our goat family of twelve. Even though he's the smallest (pygmy), he has the biggest personality. He's the first to greet visitors and demands attention, i.e. endless rubs and kisses! We rescued him right here in SW Florida and he has been an inspiration to everyone who meets him. He embodies the mission of our sanctuary - acceptance, love, and endless snuggles. If you can run, walk, jog, or swim you can join us for the fun -- either with friends and family, or on your own in your backyard or take to the streets - this is a fun way to get outside and have fun while helping raise money for this important fundraiser. It doesn't stop there! You can walk your dog, pick up trash, eat bonbons on your couch, or do anything creative you come up with. As we start our 5th year Little Bear Sanctuary has rescued over 200 farm animals, each one facing an incredibly bleak future if we hadn't intervened. While a lot has changed from the start, Little Bear Sanctuary's mission has remained unwavering: to provide a permanent home for animals in need where they can live their best lives. The funds for this year's Goat Games will be used for the major increase in the monthly overhead required to operate, feed, and house our 200 residents. We're excited for another fun year, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things our athletes and donors will do! Love and gratitude from all of us at Little Bear Sanctuary! Special In-Person Event: Opening Ceremonies on Friday, August 12, 2022, from 5 PM to 10 PM at Millennial Brewing in Fort Myers, Florida – A percentage of sales from this event will be donated to our team. Stop by our booth and say hello! About Little Bear Sanctuary Little Bear Sanctuary rescues animals in need and gives them a permanent home at the sanctuary where they can live out their best lives. As we enter our 5th year of rescue, we have saved over 200 animals including pigs, goats, cows, sheep, and chickens.

Led by Team Captain Ponty, help Team Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge and take home the gold! Ponty came to us after being abandoned and trying to survive in a mobile home in rural North Carolina that was collapsing around him. Even though he is one of our tallest goats, he came to us over 40 pounds underweight, starving and scared with little trust for humans. Today, he is thriving at the Refuge -- he is the largest goat in his herd and is a favorite among Tour guests. The Refuge provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, educates people about the realities of animal agriculture, and promotes veganism by offering knowledge, support, and community. Founded in 2012, the Refuge has been providing lifelong homes for rescued farm animals for 10 years and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in central North Carolina. We are thrilled to participate in the 2022 Goat Games as we are currently raising funds for general use in support of our recent expansion and future animal rescues! At the beginning of 2021, we were presented with the exciting opportunity to purchase an adjacent lot that has more than doubled our size, from 20 to 45 acres! We have various projects planned for this new land, such as building a perimeter fence, removing and/or restoring the existing structures on the property and making the area suitable for rescued farmed animals. These funds will be vital to beginning these projects and ultimately, completing these goals. Ponty was severely malnourished and lived in a dilapidated shack in the woods before he was rescued. Your donations will also help support food and medical care for current and future animal residents, including new cow rescues! We currently spend over $6000/month on food and veterinary expenses alone for our chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep and goats, so these contributions will also go a long way in helping us continue to provide lifelong homes for animals in need. Thank you so much for your contribution. Your support of our life-saving mission is vital. We are so grateful to have you with us on this journey to make the world a more loving and compassionate place for all beings! "Ponty's Journey"by Shannon Ducrest, Lead Animal Caregiver In an old trailer, Back in the woods, Ponty the goat did stay. Scared and alone, His tummy did groan, Hungrier every day. Until a nice man learned of his plight And took quick action to make things right You need a place with friends, safety, and food I know; Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge! About Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, educates people about the realities of animal agriculture, and promotes veganism by offering knowledge, support, and community. Founded in 2012, Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in North Carolina just 15 minutes away from the downtowns of Carrboro, Saxapahaw, and Pittsboro and 20 minutes away from downtown Chapel Hill. Our vision is to live in a world where the need for farmed animal rescue, education about the factory farm industry, and promotion of a vegan lifestyle are no longer necessary because the world is vegan and the exploitation of animals for consumption has ended.
