Team Wildwood is in it to win it! Everything you need to know about The Goat Games can be found here in the FAQs. We’re all in this together as a team! You can help encourage others by printing our team bib, posting on social media with the #TheGoatGames2022, and showing all the fun and creative ways that you’re going for the gold! Wear Your Team Show your support for Wildwood Farm Sanctuary by repping our official Goat Games team shirt! 100% of all proceeds go directly to our sanctuary! From t-shirts, to hoodies, tank tops, long-sleeves, football jerseys and more! Choose your color and get your team shirt today. A race to save our sanctuary! This year's Goat Games is hugely important to Wildwood! We have to move from our current location and need funding to purchase or lease a new property. If we're able to secure a new home for our beloved animals, we'll consider that the biggest win of all. If we can't, your support will help us move our animals safely to new sanctuaries where they'll continue to be loved and cared for. Either way, we're counting on you to help us get through this enormous challenge! Now, onto the fun... Our 2022 team captain, Orin, is both an athlete and an inspiring leader. At 14 years of age, he's definitely the senior team captain of our goat herd here at Wildwood. He keeps everyone in line! He has the sweetest personality and is still very agile! He is taking his new job very seriously and demanding excellence from the team – no ifs, ands or buts about it. Well, maybe a few butts. Most of the animals at Wildwood had a pretty rough start in life. Many were rescued from factory farms, terrible abuse and neglect. Now, surrounded by love and good friends, they are free to be their sweet, sensitive, silly selves. Nothing makes the humans here happier than to see them engage in shenanigans and hijinks. About Wildwood Farm Sanctuary & Preserve Wildwood Farm Sanctuary & Preserve is an accredited, 501c3 farm animal sanctuary currently located in Newberg, Oregon. Since 2012, we have provided a safe haven for abused and abandoned farmed animals. We are looking for a new property to continue our mission of promoting compassion and inspiring change.

Pickle is an itty bitty goat with a gigantic spirit who came to IFS with rear limb paresis when she was just a few days old -- she was small enough to be mistaken for a kitten! Since welcoming Pickle in January 2021, she has made incredible progress. You'd never even know she had mobility difficulties when she was a baby! She overcame all odds and now has full use of all of her legs. Nowadays, Pickle is a happy, curious, and energetic little soul. She always has important business to attend to. If she pauses to give you a few moments of her time, you’re very fortunate—baby girl has stuff to do and places to be! She’s the most perfect Pickle in the world. IFS is Iowa's original vegan sanctuary for farmed animals. We're strategically located in the epicenter of modern animal agriculture, helping farmed animals where it is needed the most! Pickle and all of her rescued friends-- like Buddy, Annie, Fawn, and Angel are touching hearts near and far, inspiring people all around the world to act with compassion. This year is our first year participating in the Goat Games and we are ready to take home the GOLD! Our goal is to raise $25,000!!! As a sanctuary that is located in the heart of modern animal agriculture, we receive inquiries daily about farm animals in desperate need of rescue--many with special care needs like Pickle. We’re excited to join fellow animal advocates and Sanctuaries in this fun-spirited event to raise awareness and shine a light on our collective mission: creating a more compassionate world for humans and animals. While we’re new to the Goat Games field this year, our roots run deep. Founded in 1986, we’ve provided refuge for thousands of animals and have educated millions of people each year about just, compassionate vegan living. Meet Team Captain Josie Mae aka “The Resilient.” Josie-Mae was born at a goat dairy farm. Due to an accident, her owner decided that she would never be "useful" there. That turned out to be just her luck! Josie-Mae and her mom, Willow, now live at Farm Sanctuary's New York shelter. Josie-Mae is a peppy and friendly goat, and her prosthetics help her explore and play to her heart’s delight! After a day of action, she loves spending some downtime cuddling with her mom. Sign up today with any activity of your choice to spread awareness and support animals like Josie-Mae! Like all animals, Josie-Mae deserves a chance at happiness. By participating in the Goat Games, you are helping make that a reality. About Farm Sanctuary For 36 years, Farm Sanctuary has provided a place of peace and refuge for thousands of rescued farm animals. Farm Sanctuary fights the disastrous effects of animal agriculture on animals, the environment, social justice, and public health through rescue, education, and advocacy. We seek to foster just and compassionate vegan living, and envision a world where Sanctuary replaces exploitation.

While we may not have any goats currently living at Heartwood, Team Captain Ruby would argue that the pigs are the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All-Time). The jury is still out, but we're encouraging Ruby to reach for the stars in these Olym-pigs! Ruby arrived at Heartwood Haven unable to walk, but with a lot of love, care, and the power of sanctuary Ruby is not only walking, but she is the swimming queen and the greatest Piggygator of all time! About Heartwood Haven Heartwood Haven is located in a farm-like setting in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We are on a mission to end animal cruelty against farmed animals. We primarily work with local animal control to rescue animals from cruelty and abuse cases. These animals are typically former cock-fighting roosters and pigs. Through our successful adoption program, we save hundreds of animals every year. In addition to our rescue work, we also fight for a more compassionate world through our education and advocacy programs. Your generosity and support allow us to continue fighting for the most vulnerable among us.

My name is Finnegan and I am a tiny bunny with a BIG heart, literally! That’s what my doctors said when they diagnosed me with an enlarged heart. My prognosis wasn’t good, but I have shown everyone what a determined little rabbit I am. I have defied all odds for 2.5 years and today I am a happy bundle of energy. My heart condition won’t slow me down. I run, jump and zoom around like the rest of them! Tiny bunnies like me are said to be feisty and off-standish, but not ME. I love everyone and everybun, and try to be friends with every new rescue bun that comes into our home. My mom says it’s because I have such a big heart. I share my home with five other adopted rescue rabbits. Four of them were rescued through Safe Haven Rabbit Rescue. Some came from a hoarding situation; others were dumped in a park to fend for themselves My mom Astrid volunteers for Safe Haven Rabbit Rescue, so I hear all about all the rabbits needing rescue. The need for help never ends. Neither do the bills. And these bills add up!! That’s why my mom Astrid promised to walk 2 miles a day with the goal of raising $1000. To support Astrid’s efforts, just click on the “Support by Donating” button on our page! That will help us BRING HOME THE GOLD for Safe Haven Rabbit Rescue! This is Safe Haven's first year with the Goat Games, and we are excited to join in the fun! We hope YOU will JOIN US as we strive to help Safe Haven Rabbit Rescue raise $10,000 to help continue its work. It would mean the world to me!

A generous donor has already committed a substantial amount for a new property; we’re committed to raising the rest. Please join the Goat Games as an athlete, sponsor or donor and help us secure a new sanctuary for all our beloved residents. And now, onto the fun...

If you know me, you probably know that I volunteer at Wildwood, an animal sanctuary near my home. Wildwood has been such an amazing place to volunteer at because all of the animals are given such love and outstanding care. The grounds are absolutely stunning and visiting each week is always something I look forward to. All of the animals were rescued from the farming industry in one way or another - some were saved from being slaughtered for meat, others were saved from being tortured for eggs, and others were saved from being exploited for their wool. I have never met such happy and sweet animals as the ones at Wildwood. Even though some animals have only been at Wildwood for less than a year, they already have understood that they are safe and cared for and will approach you for treats or pets. I was devastated a few weeks ago when I heard the news that Wildwood would be closing down. However, due to the outpouring of love and support from the community, Wildwood has announced that they will be able to relocate the farm to a more viable property instead of having to close down! This means that all of the animals will get to stay together and live the rest of their lives with their friends they have become so close to. Now, Wildwood needs our help! We are about 1/4 of the way to affording a new property but we need to fundraise the rest in order to make this dream come true. If you’re able to pitch in even a few dollars, it would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your help!

Ponty came to us after being abandoned and trying to survive in a mobile home in rural North Carolina that was collapsing around him. Even though he is one of our tallest goats, he came to us over 40 pounds underweight, starving and scared with little trust for humans. Today, he is thriving at the Refuge -- he is the largest goat in his herd and is a favorite among Tour guests. The Refuge provides lifelong care to rescued farm animals, educates people about the realities of animal agriculture, and promotes veganism by offering knowledge, support, and community. Founded in 2012, the Refuge has been providing lifelong homes for rescued farm animals for 10 years and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in central North Carolina. We are thrilled to participate in the 2022 Goat Games as we are currently raising funds for general use in support of our recent expansion and future animal rescues! At the beginning of 2021, we were presented with the exciting opportunity to purchase an adjacent lot that has more than doubled our size, from 20 to 45 acres! We have various projects planned for this new land, such as building a perimeter fence, removing and/or restoring the existing structures on the property and making the area suitable for rescued farmed animals. These funds will be vital to beginning these projects and ultimately, completing these goals. Ponty was severely malnourished and lived in a dilapidated shack in the woods before he was rescued. Your donations will also help support food and medical care for current and future animal residents, including new cow rescues! We currently spend over $6000/month on food and veterinary expenses alone for our chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, sheep and goats, so these contributions will also go a long way in helping us continue to provide lifelong homes for animals in need. Welcome to the 3rd Annual Goat Games - Friday, August 12 through Monday, August 15 - hosted by Catskill Animal Sanctuary and sponsored in part by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). The Goat Games 2022 is YOUR chance to help rescued farmed animals across the country— by hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, binge-watching Netflix, dancing or any activity of your choice– right where you live, work and play! In 2020, Catskill Animal Sanctuary created The Goat Games as a response to their urgent fundraising needs during COVID — and to give folks a taste of fun and athleticism in the wake of the canceled Olympics. The following year, they selected sanctuaries across the country to participate and the Games grew to a total of 10 teams, raising thousands of dollars to help save animals! This year, Catskill Animal Sanctuary is partnering with TWELVE other GFAS-certified farmed animal sanctuaries from coast to coast to increase awareness of all our life-saving work— and to have FUN! Simply pick a sanctuary, register as an athlete for their team, carry out your chosen activity, and ask your friends and family to donate to support you. Every dollar raised will go to saving lives and providing sanctuary for animals in need. It’s up to all of us to carry the torch and get the GOLD for farmed animals. Are you game? Everything you need to know about participating as an athlete on your favorite sanctuary’s team, or supporting a sanctuary as a donor, is right here in these FAQs. Read the FAQs About the Sanctuary: Catskill Animal Sanctuary is a 150-acre refuge in New York’s Hudson Valley for 11 species of farmed animals rescued from cruelty, neglect and other dire circumstances. In addition to emergency rescue, the Sanctuary ignites social change to end the exploitation of farmed animals, and champions vegan living through innovative educational programs.

Stop in the cafe on Thursday, August 11 from 10-2 or Friday, August 12 from 4-7 and purchase a Goat Games-themed cupcake! 100% of proceeds from our Goat Games-themed cupcakes will go to support Team Farm Sanctuary! Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming, advocate for institutional reforms, and encourage a new awareness and understanding of farm animals and the benefits of cruelty-free, plant-based living. In recent years, science has confirmed the inhumane and destructive impact of animal agriculture — a food system based on interrelated oppression and injustice. As the founding farm animal Sanctuary in the U.S., Farm Sanctuary has rescued and provided refuge for countless survivors of the animal agriculture system. Today, at Farm Sanctuary’s Los Angeles, CA and Watkins Glen, NY Sanctuaries you will find nearly 1,000 rescued animals—each with an individual story to tell. These survivors are ambassadors, representing the billions of farm animals currently in the system. They, and others like them, have changed the hearts and minds of a generation.
