One in twenty-six people will develop epilepsy in their life time. That means that you might know someone, such as a family member, friend or coworker who deals with epileptic seizures. Some people's seizures has been under control for years, maybe even decades while other's deal with seizures on a daily basis despite multiple medications, surgery and whatever other option might be available to them to lessen the seizures.Many people with epilepsy can life normal lives for the most part, while others cannot even work and have to rely on family and friends for help. For some that cannot work it is even a struggle to get disability. And while it is rare those who have epilepsy are at risk for SUDEP or sudden unexpected death in epilepsy. Epilepsy can take a toll on a person, physically, mentally and emotionally. The larger the support group they have the easier it can be to deal with epilepsy.I'm doing this walk for a third year because I personally know someone who has dealt with epilepsy for 7.5 years. They averaged six seizures a year, every 57 days on average before 2020. Many tests have resulted in no answers. Now for the first time in over a year this person has been seizure free. I'm hoping that one day a cure can be found to what causes epilepsy in some people and not others. I'm hoping that one day everyone who deals with epilepsy can be seizure free and not have to worry about having another seizure in their lifetime.Any donation amount you can give to help me raise my goal is greatly appreciated. No donation amount is too small and if you cannot make a donation, simply sharing my donation page to others is greatly appreciated. I thank you for taking the time to read what I have written.
