I am participating in the Walk4Friendship 2022 to raise awareness and money for The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh.Evelyn has been involved in Friendship Circle for the past 5 or 6 years. It has allowed her to participate in activities and make friends when she normally would be excluded and isolated. Of all the things we have done for Evelyn, NOTHING has impacted her life…or all of our lives, as Friendship Circle.Katie got involved a few years later and it has helped her understand that she is not alone as a sibling to a child with autism.I have found comfort and support with the other moms and live for the mom’s nights and mom’s lunches.No organization that I know has mastered inclusion more than Friendship Circle. Walking into a Friendship Circle get together is an example of how the world should be. Everyone is welcome and accepted for who they are.To that end, all activities are free for their members. Please help support our walk and all programs put on by Friendship Circle.

Kieran is at it again - another year of friendship, activities and 360 degrees of smiles. It's truly one of Kieran's most cherished activities here in Pittsburgh, and for that matter, the whole family's. Please help us raise money to support the amazing activities they provide for our community, all free of charge to the participants. The Friendship Circle’s third annual “Walk4Friendship” will take place on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Wightman Park, 5612 Solway Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. The walk will start at 11 am and will be followed by a Carnival Celebration for all walk participants! Walk4Friendship will bring the community together by having participants create teams and work together to fundraise our goal of $125,000! Each Walk4Friendship team will be asked to raise $25! Our Walk4Friendship event will conclude with a celebration of all walk participants and our sponsors at the finish line.

I am participating in the Walk4Friendship 2022 to raise awareness and money for The Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh.Kai joined Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh at the beginning of this year. When we did I was looking for a place and people for Kai to have social interactions in addition to school or day program. To be frank I was just expecting to go to a couple of activities a month to get Kai out of the house and maybe meet other families caring for young adults with disabilities. I quickly realized Friendship Circle was way more than that. First off, as a diverse family, and myself a person of color, we have never felt more included and comfortable and heard and appreciated and wanted… as we do since we joined FC. Not only that FC has given Kai an opportunity to be a leader without judgement and has also provided volunteer opportunities to give back to the community. We are so grateful to our friends who introduced us to this organization that provides Kai with amazing opportunities to meet new people and create friendships, to have new experiences and create lasting memories, to learn to use his voice to advocate for himself and others, and to be part of a community that is inclusive in every sense of the word. Friendship Circle is a growing organization that thrives on inclusion and offers activities and experiences to all members of all ages and abilities. They even have a podcast where they address and talk about mental health. I have made so many friends and participate in activities every week ranging from bowling, baking, cooking, dinners, sports club and art activities to name a few. All of these are offered at no cost to me. I look forward to these activities and really enjoy all that I can do at The Friendship Circle.

For those of you who may not know, I have been working with the Friendship Circle of Pittsburgh for the past year as the Host Committees Coordinator. For all of the teen clubs and events that we offer, I work closely with the teens to make these programs happen. This experience has been so meaningful as I have made so many connections with our members, as well as the staff. I am so thankful for this opportunity and hope you will consider donating.
