Hi Everyone! This is a fun event for a good cause, which is the Women's Cancer Resource Center (WCRC). If you haven't heard about the WCRC, here is the gist of why I really appreciate their existence and their services: The WCRC helps individuals with cancer improve their quality of life through education, supportive services, and practical assistance. They help individuals from various backgrounds and cultures navigate through the often-overwhelming health care system to get the appropriate care and treatment they need. WCRC's mission is to improve equitable access to cancer information, support and care. All of their programs and services are free. And fundraisers like this are what make it possible for them to continue offering their services for free. Please help me keep the WCRC sustainable and their services always available for people who need their support. Dear friends, On May 6th, I will be participating in Swim A Mile / Move A Mile at Mills College to benefit the work of the Women's Cancer Resource Center. Have I ever swam a mile before? Not sure. Does soaking in my hot tub count as training lol? Apparently, it takes 72 pools lengths to swim a mile [insert nervous emoji]. But.. in all seriousness, I'm taking the plunge because WCRC does phenomenal working supporting primarily low income, POC, and queer women with cancer through FREE education, supportive services, and practical assistance, and they need our support.
