Thank you for joining us in the Pat Mac Ride fundraising campaign. Whether you are a rider, a rider sponsor or a supporter of our mission, your generous donation is making an especially big impact in the fight against pediatric cancer. The Pat Mac Ride honors the winning spirit and life of Patrick McNamara who died at the age of 13 from a pediatric brain tumor. He was the child of Tom and Dee McNamara, the organizers of Pat Mac’s Pack. With the blessing of Pat's parents, Tom and Dee McNamara, the ride originated in the spring of 2014 when a group of men from St. Barnabas Parish where Patrick McNamara attended grammar school, chose to change their annual bike ride into a fundraiser to honor Patrick. This year, we are thrilled to hit the road once again to raise money for pediatric brain tumor research and to assist young cancer patients and their families. Women and men 21 years and older are invited to participate in the ride. Our goal is to help as many children as possible in their battle with an unfair disease. We are committed to never give up the fight. 100% of all funds raised are used to support pediatric brain tumor research and provide funding to financially distressed families of patients suffering from pediatric brain cancer. In 2014, 44 riders raised $25,000. The tremendous effort has grown every year. In 2022, 230 riders raised an amazing $285,000! This year, our goal is to raise $300,000, and we believe we can make it happen with your generous support! Are you planning to ride and need transportation back to Chicago for you and your bike? I have been doing the Pat Mac 100 K ride since 2017 and I’m looking forward to doing it again this year. I know many of you have helped me in the past and I hope you can once again assist me in this endeavor. Every cent raised by the Pat Mac’s Pack goes towards assisting children and their families as they struggle with pediatric cancer. The ride honors the life of Patrick McNamara. At the age of 2, Patrick was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor. During his short life, Patrick endured more than 15 brain surgeries, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and countless radiation treatments. Through it all, Patrick never lost his winning spirit and love for family and friends. Patrick died at the age of 13 from the ravages of the disease. Patrick was the child of my friends Tom and Dee McNamara, the organizers of Pat Mac’s Pack.Pat Mac’s Pack is a 501 (c)(3) charitable foundation established to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research. The organization also provides funds and services directly to young cancer patients and their families. In addition, the foundation works to raise awareness about this devastating disease.I hope you will consider sponsoring me with a donation of any amount. Your support would be greatly appreciated. As in past years I am again offering a Money Back Guarantee. Should I not complete the ride I will make good each and every pledge I received. So come on, I’m 74 years old which gives you pretty good odds on getting you pledge back.
