Our mission is to foster the growth of strong, resilient, hopeful children who are impacted by the incarceration of a loved one in the Frederick County region. Although providing basic human needs and reducing suffering is not a unique philanthropic endeavor, COIPP is the only organization in the Frederick Region that specifically targets the needs of children and families impacted by incarceration of a loved one. A donation today will provide opportunities and direct support to children suffering from the trauma of having a loved one incarcerated.
COIPP’s mission is to foster the growth of strong, resilient, hopeful children who are impacted by the incarceration of a loved one in the Frederick County region. My wife’s father was incarcerated for a number of years starting when she was 15. Fortunately, she had an uncle who gave her the kind of support that allowed her to be resilient— to get past that trauma and lead a productive life. That’s what COIPP hopes to do and why I think supporting COIPP’s mission is so important.
I'm fundraising for Incentive Fund because they do amazing work, and I'm inviting friends like you to support my campaign. Thanks for taking a moment to check it out!

Supporting Black-owned businesses is an effective way to close the racial wealth gap, promote economic opportunity, and empower Black entrepreneurs and communities. Closing the racial wealth gap helps to address systemic inequalities and fosters a more inclusive and equitable society. Tons of data show that Black-owned businesses face greater barriers when starting and scaling their businesses. The latest ALICE report revealed that more than 36% of Frederick County households struggle to afford basic needs such as housing, transportation, childcare, food, health care and technology. Black households in Frederick County take the lead when it comes to poverty and are second place when it comes to being at the ALICE survival threshold. Funds raised through the Unity Campaign will support SOUL Street's vendor Scholarship Fund, which will cover fees for Black ALICE individuals looking to start/grow their businesses and earn a passive income through selling at our markets and attending our educational events. About SOUL Street SOUL Street was founded in July 2020 when we launched our first round of pop-up markets. In 2021, we started Frederick's first-ever Black-Owned farmer's market. Since then, three Black-owned businesses have turned their hobbies into businesses with us and have successfully grown and expanded into brick-and-mortar locations. Five business owners who started with us have expanded into commercial kitchens, and many others continue to grow. We continue to serve as an open-air incubator for Black-owned businesses to grow and raise capital. Mission: SOUL Street empowers the Black business community through events, outreach, advocacy, and education. Vision: SOUL Street aims to create economic opportunity for every member of the Black business community in Frederick County while rebuilding Black generational wealth.
The Ranch is such an important part of so many lives and we are working to create a much better living experience for our residents. We really do want this to feel like a "home away from home," somewhere they are proud to be, happy to share with their family, friends, and support systems. Many of you know me and my desire that we recognize and respect individuals living actively in recovery and offer them our support.

Hey Facebook Friends and Family.... this is a great organization here in my hometown of Frederick County, Maryland. Let's do good for my community!! Thank you. Adult Literacy is a Survival Skill ... Knowing How to Read, Write, and Communicate Saves Lives ... Yet ... more than 25,000 Frederick County adults lack the literacy skills needed to function in society. This number includes people who are learning English and native English speakers who are all our neighbors. Literacy is listening, speaking, reading, writing, navigating and belonging. Without knowing how to read, how can someone understand directions on a medicine bottle or on a map? Without knowing how to write, how can someone fill out a job application? Without knowing English, how can a parent respond to a message from their child's school? Many of our students fall within the population of Marylanders mentioned in the ALICE Report. Despite working multiple, low-paying jobs, these adults and their families can’t make ends meet. The COVID-19 crisis has added to their plight. How do they keep their jobs, support their children's schooling, and access health resources? The Literacy Council of Frederick County (LCFC) is providing a lifeline for these people in many ways by teaching everyday life skills. I'm proud to be a part of this non-profit, and would love to have your support for it! We facilitate delivering food directly from farmers to schools and other venues, as well as provide educational programs on food nutrition. Farm to School Frederick is on a mission to make locally grown, highly nutritious food available to all Frederick Maryland residents. We believe that equitable access to fresh fruits and vegetables should not be a luxury but is a necessity that can have a dramatic positive influence on individual and community health.
City Youth Matrix provides opportunities for youth to flourish through enrichment programs. We help children and parents overcome the barriers that prevent them from experiencing any youth music, art, athletic, drama, or vocational program in Frederick. In general, the greatest barriers that exist are registration costs and transportation. We meet any costs necessary for recreational programs, as well as the more costly club and travel organizations. We have a fleet of volunteer drivers that are vetted and screened, insured, and fully trained. We have a family empowerment program that helps support the sustainability of our values. Even though our core mission is to provide opportunities for youth, the parent/guardian must be part of the City Youth Matrix experience. Our family empowerment program is closely related to the ALICE research and we are sensitive to the those families that are making strong efforts but coming up short with their survival budgets. At City Youth Matrix, we help break down barriers to give low income ALICE children and families opportunities. We remove the barriers of income, transportation and access that prevent children from participating in activities. We invest in training family liaisons, engaging parents and inspiring volunteers as part of our matrix of support.

Imagine a community where people with and without disabilities have regular opportunities to develop meaningful, mutual friendships. Imagine a community where disability inclusion means physical access and the invitation to actively participate and lead. Imagine a community where each person is accepted and celebrated – just as they are. Imagine Community Differently In L'Arche, people with and without intellectual disabilities (IDD) share life and friendships in a community strengthened by faith. We believe everyone should have space to build a vibrant, fulfilling life. L’Arche Frederick brings the power of community to life so people with IDD can thrive. We host inclusive social events open to people of all ages. Our community home welcomes adults with and without IDD to live together as peers and friends. Meaningful relationships, individualized supports, and a culture of belonging are at the core of what makes L'Arche one of the most unique organizations in the country. Looking forward, we envision a community of life-long homes for adults with IDD, ultimately responding to the persistent need for inclusive housing options and contributing to a meaningful, dignified life for all. Beyond just a place to call home, L’Arche cultivates a home life where nightly meals are shared, holiday traditions grow, and housemates with and without IDD build relationships across their differences. Our philosophy of community hinges on mutual relationships of care and support where people with IDD are not just cared “for”, but cared “about”- and this mindset permeates our long-standing community events and new residential program. You can make a difference in the lives of neighbors with IDD $70 covers material & food costs for one inclusive social event hosted by L'Arche. $100 fills the tank of the L'Arche van for one month, enabling reliable transportation for people who will live in the L'Arche home. $240 provides training costs for one house assistant, ensuring residents receive the highest quality care and personalized support. MISSION As members of the International Federation of L’Arche, our shared mission is to create homes where the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities are revealed through mutually transforming relationships; to embrace diverse cultures working together to build a more human society; and to respond to the changing needs of our members throughout a lifetime of adult care. You can help us create sustainable and meaningful places of belonging for people with intellectual disabilities. Support L'Arche and Imagine Community Differently!
Welcome! This is the start of my tenth year as the Literacy Council's first Executive Director of our small -- but mighty -- nonprofit organization located in downtown Frederick. This year, the Literacy Council is celebrating its 61st anniversary, benefitting more than 10,000 adults since its founding in 1963! The Literacy Council's Mission is to provide Frederick County adults with pathways to essential literacy skills. Success for the individuals and families we are privileged to serve rests on a collective community approach, so community partnerships are a critical part of our work. Should you have the chance to visit our office in downtown Frederick, you will immediately notice our spiral staircase! Our staircase represents the journeys and pathways our students travel to learn to read or speak English, and achieve everyday life skills -- whether it is to get a better job, obtain a driver’s license, pass their citizenship exam or read to their children and help them with homework. Our adult learners and volunteer tutors meet together each week in tutoring sessions or in classes to gain reading and English language skills. Thanks to financial support from our community and the work of over 170 volunteers the Literacy Council provides beginning literacy, conversation, writing, civics, computer literacy and pronunciation classes as well as individual tutoring to over 350 adult learners each year. Please consider a financial contribution to the Unity Campaign for Frederick County to help support the work of the Literacy Council as well as other nonprofit organizations of your choice during this year’s campaign in March 2024! You can contribute online, text to give, or send a donation by mail.
Established in 1999, the Fund relies solely on donations from individuals and businesses in our community, along with our major events, the Pink Ribbon 5K and the Pink Ribbon Gala. We are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year, and have raised over $3.5 million. All money received goes to direct patient care. There are no administrative fees and all money stays local. Our mission is to provide the very best technology and services for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer in the Frederick Community. Over the years we have provided our community with the newest technology in mammography and MRI detection for breast cancer, funded the Medical and Oncology suite at the James M. Stockman Cancer Center, and were instrumental in the development of the Center for Breast Care at Frederick Health. Recently we funded a Research Nurse Navigator to bring clinical trials to the Breast Center, and we are working toward the building of a Boutique for the Breast Center to supply patients with all necessary prosthetics and accessories post surgery or along with other treatments. We are excited for the possibilities of bringing even more new developments in the area of Precision Medicine and clinical trials. Donations to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer fund support the entire Frederick community and provide the best available early detection and treatment for all Frederick county residents regardless of their economic status. Hi - as you know St. Vincent de Paul assists our Frederick County neighbors in serious financial difficulties. Please consider a contribution here to help a neighbor facing eviction, water or electric shut-off, inability to pay for a prescription medicine, or an empty tank when a sick child needs to be taken to the doctor. Many families just don't have the income to meet the necessities in life, and your generous donation can be the blessing that makes a difference for them.
