The Photography Program at California Baptist University needs your financial support. Through last year’s fundraising efforts, we were able to fund 100% of our $30,000 costs to produce this second annual spring show. Please help us in funding next year’s spring show. We’ve set another goal of $30,000. 100% of your tax-deductible donation impacts the students’ success. In 2024, we’re looking to maintain the benchmark set in 2022 and maintained here in 2023. Becoming that beacon of Light in the Photographic and Local Community. Sending our students out into the world; academically prepared, biblically rooted, globally minded, and equipped to serve. For the 2023 Spring Show, 6 seniors, 16 juniors, and 11 sophomores installed their photographic work as vinyl works in twelve 6x6x6’ structural cubes. The photographic work was on display from April 13th to 27th. On Saturday, April 22nd, we welcomed 500+ guests to our VIP Reception. Students, Friends, Family, Faculty, Staff, Administration, Community, and Industry. A true Feast of Fellowship. We're still processing the overwhelming success of our second annual Spring Show. It was truly a spectacle and a humbling experience to feel the love and support of so many. Over the course of two weeks, our students' photographic work was appreciated by an additional 1,000 viewers. One of the many highlights of the Spring Show was our Portfolio Reviews. On Saturday, April 22nd, six seniors and a junior shared their printed portfolios and websites with eight industry and academic professionals over the course of 3 hours. Additionally, they presented their work via Zoom to seven additional viewers on Thursday, April 20th. Simultaneously, we hosted a series of three Artist Talks from top Industry and Academic professionals, welcoming hundreds of guests from our program and the greater local and photographic community. These professionals were generous with their time and expertise - traveling as far as Santa Barbara and San Diego to speak to the next generation of photographic professionals. We are thankful for the support from our professional organization, American Photographic Artists - San Diego, and our academic organization, the Society of Photographic Education. About CBU Photography The Photography Program at California Baptist University in Riverside, California, explores the practice and theory of photography via technical understandings and methodological explorations of the photography medium as applied to commercial, fine art, and social practice. Through the introduction of narrative, conceptual development, and Christian worldview - students will acquire a unique stylistic aesthetic and photographic voice, leading to a professional portfolio. Best practices, latest technologies, ideation, craft, and business acumen are embedded into the instruction and mentorship - all with the intention of sending graduates out to make an impact for the Kingdom.

With the inclusion of the Broadcast Studio and this degree, we are poised to enhance the impact of our Christian media outlets, CBU TV and Lancers Noticias, by producing higher-quality content more frequently. Through the generous support of our donors, we will acquire essential resources like LED screens, a Control Room, Unreal Engine software, and a robust media studio capable of creating multimedia content reaching a wider spectrum of audiences.

With your help, we are building God's Kingdom and preparing students to make a positive difference in how business is done.
YOU can help train a new generation of Christian leaders who will actively serve Christ and His church. The mission of CBU’s School of Christian Ministries is to train a new generation of Christian leaders who will actively serve Christ and His church. Some programs are designed specifically for those who plan to enter vocational ministry. Others are designed for students preparing for other careers. Many CBU students who select other majors still choose to double major or minor in one of our programs. They can add a double major or minor in Christian Studies, Intercultural Studies, or Philosophy. Or they can add a minor in Ethics. This allows them to grow in their insight into the Bible and Christian worldview, and strengthen their ability to serve the church and the world.

Our unique process helps students come to know that their extrinsic worth and eternal value can be secure in Jesus Christ, and as a result, they will live out God’s purpose in community by becoming disciple-makers. In the context of Christ-like community, we desire for students to: Explore the gospel and what it means to be known by Jesus. Establish a relationship with and commit to following Jesus. Expand their faith by pursuing opportunities to grow in relationship with Jesus and to strategically serve others. Engage with others by developing a strategic personal ministry.
