Alfred State College Crowdfunding
The Alfred State athletic department has faced many challenges, like many of you, throughout the last eight months.
Our staff, including our coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators, have been working diligently to provide as much sport related activities to our student-athletes as possible this year. Unfortunately due to the NCAA guidelines, we were unable to fulfill our sport schedules this semester. Practices have been limited to 1 hour due to the implications of COVID-19 and student-athletes have been required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing measures.
Throughout the planning process, an emphasis was placed on the safety and wellbeing of our student-athletes in order for our teams to conduct sport related activities successfully. These sport related activities were drastically reduced due to limitations from COVID-19 and a shift in our focus resulted in an increased concentration on academics, mental wellbeing, and overall support for obstacles each of them were facing. One of the major challenges we have faced during the last eight months is our annual budget and overall financial support. The athletic budget is funded through student fees and only 50% has been collected during the last two semesters. Students have been refunded a portion of the fee due to their inability to attend athletic events. Each programs budget provides resources for team travel, equipment, game expenses, salaries, and more. Budgets do not include funding for medical testing that will be expected to implement when we return to intercollegiate competition in early 2021.
In a desire to return to some sort of normalcy and allow for a return to competition similar to what we have provided in the past, we are asking that you help our team on this Day of Giving.
It is our goal to raise funds in order to supplement our budget so we can continue to provide outstanding opportunities and experiences for our student athletes.

$25 = practice gear for a student-athlete
$50 = basketball/2 dozen baseballs
$150 = postgame meal for a team
$500 = officials for a home contest
$1,000 = bus cost for a road trip within two hours from
