Please share how you have been personally touched by cardiovascular disease and/or why you decided to dance in this year's event.

My sister Eleni has had cogenital heart disease that has caused her to endure three open heart surgeries, one valve replacement, plus one internal defibrillator which she lives with. She has never allowed that to stop her! She is a dedicated wife, mother of three boys, and simply lives life to the fullest. Her beautiful spirit and heart inspires me each day as I step out of my comfort zone and dance in her honor.

The Long Beach community is very important to me as I have owned my company and participated and/or supported various philanthropic groups throughout the city for over 30 years.  I have always chosen to give back as an example to my children.  Truly... God has shared my blessings with others.  As a community that has supported and embraced me, I feel it is important to, in turn, support this community and give back.

I was personally flattered yet scared to step out of my comfort zone when initially asked to dance, but since I tend to have an adventorous spirit and believe in embracing life to the fullest, I agreed. We only pass this way once!

Thank you for your support!

About the Event

MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center Foundation’s annual gala - Dancing for Our Stars (DFOS) - has become one of the hottest philanthropic events in Long Beach.

The DFOS “The Beat Goes On” Gala is rescheduled to take place on February 26, 2022 at Hyatt Regency Long Beach and will benefit MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute. The event will feature dancers from the community who either have been personally touched by heart disease or wish to support leading-edge heart and vascular care in our community.  Each dancer will partner with a professional dancer or significant other to choreograph and perform an original dance to an upbeat, popular song from their favorite era.  Attendees will have an opportunity to support their favorite dancer(s) by “voting with their dollars” before and during the event as dancers vie for the coveted DFOS Champion Crystal Award.

Tickets are on sale now and sponsorship/underwriting/program advertising opportunities are also available. Additionally, all previously purchased sponsorships, ads, and tickets have automatically transferred to this rescheduled event. We look forward to celebrating this fun and memorable evening with you!
