    Become a Birder

    Birding at Shaver's Creek

The Birding Cup, Shaver's Creek's annual fundraising tournament, is historically a contest among teams of birders to identify the most bird species in a twenty-four hour period in the central Pennsylvania region.

Last year, Shaver’s Creek decided to forgo the typical competitive aspects of the Birding Cup by holding a global, communal, virtual Birding Cup to celebrate our strong connections to nature and each other while physically distant. This year, we are happy to introduce a new model of both global and local birding—whether you bird alone, with your friends, or in a competitive team, the choice is yours!

No matter how or where you bird, we will all celebrate the education and promotion of biodiversity by supporting the effort to bring the Lost Bird Project to Shaver’s Creek and four partner sites in the Centre region.
