We are excited to host the 13th Annual Husky Golf Open. This event will occur on Saturday, June 1, 2024, @ 10:00 am at Water's Edge Golf Course in Worth, IL.

The Husky Open started out as a yearly golf outing amongst friends, and took on new meaning when one of the founders of the outing, Stephen "Husk" McAllister was diagnosed at the age of 28 with cholangiocarcinoma. Cholangiocarcinoma is a rare and often lethal cancer of the bile duct. Stephen’s cancer diagnosis was shocking and sent him and his family and friends on a horrific journey against this rare and vicious cancer. Stephen was a proud member of Union 399 Chicago Operating Engineers, a graduate of St. Rita of Cascia High School, and a member of St. Germaine and Our Lady of Loretto parishes. He bravely fought this aggressive cancer, but sadly it took his life in August 2021, just 11 weeks after its discovery. Devastated by this loss, his family and friends hope to raise awareness about this rare cancer and promote the resources to find earlier diagnoses and more treatment options.

Our goals in hosting this event are to honor those with cholangiocarcinoma, bring awareness of this devastating disease to our community, unite our community for a day of fun and togetherness, and raise crucial funds for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s research and advocacy efforts.

The event costs $150.00 per golfer and includes golf for the day, merchandise, lunch, and an after-party ticket (complimentary food and drink). If you are not interested in golf, after-party tickets are $40 at the door.

We are asking for donations, as well as sponsors at three levels:

Hope ($1000), Warrior ($500), and Awareness ($250).

Depending on level of sponsorship, you are eligible for free tickets, sponsor signs, and your name on the back of our outing t-shirts. Your donation is fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law and will go in full to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. You will receive a letter from the Foundation for your tax purposes.

Please contact us at (615) 351-4612 if you have any questions regarding the event or sponsorship opportunity. If you prefer email, we can be reached at [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you and are grateful for your support of this event!

About the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation:

The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation’s (CCF) mission is to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). Cholangiocarcinoma is an aggressive, lethal cancer that occurs in the liver within the bile ducts. Approximately 10,000 Americans are diagnosed annually, and the diagnosis rate continues to rise. CCF is the leading global resource for cholangiocarcinoma research, education, support, and awareness and is the only US organization dedicated solely to meeting the needs of this community. The Foundation’s work is made possible through generous donations from caring individuals like you, who share our dedication to finding a cure for cholangiocarcinoma.
