USC VHH Community Health and Education Initiatives

    Health Education

Our community health outreach initiatives include the provision of healthcare-related talks, seminars and classes that are offered free of charge to all members of the community. These include monthly Doc Talks, an annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention conference, quarterly nutrition/Diabetes prevention classes and more.

Improving Access to Care for Our Local Community

These initiatives also include offering a variety of low or no cost screenings and immunizations to the community including flu vaccines, TB testing and mammograms.

Connecting our Medical Professionals to the Community

Our outreach makes medical staff and their expertise available to the community as guest speakers, to staff health fairs and to provide shadow experiences and tours of the hospital to school and scouting groups including our annual Day of Discovery for local high school students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare.

    Make an Impact

Your support of our Community Health and Outreach Initiatives improves the lives of not only our patients, but the community as-a-whole. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
