CrossRoads Missions

Gustavo was born in Mexico City in 1947 and born again as a believer in 1980 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. He has an older brother, a sister, and an identical twin. He attended high school near Charlottesville, Virginia, and attained his Management Science and Engineering Technology Degree in New York City.

In 1990, while working in Ciudad Juarez, Gustavo was hired to come to a maquiladora in Piedras Negras. Over a decade later, in 2002, he began working with CrossRoads Missions as a liaison connecting City Hall, Piedra Angular’s Neighborhood Association, and CrossRoads. He also helped translate and coordinate translators whenever necessary.

Gustavo began to play praise and worship with children in 1984. It became a passion of his when, at a church, a toddler in the nursery began to move her little legs and arms up and down praising the Lord as soon as she heard his guitar! Since then, he's been innovating ways to share the Gospel with children, composing songs, adding gestures, and doing musicals.  Gustavo has written more than 50 songs, recorded two albums (one for children), and collaborated with international singers.

Hobbies: Playing harmonica in the church’s choir, writing short comic adventures, and trying to finish writing a book focused on the deaf and dumb. He also loves Evangelizing and/or reading the Gospel aloud while in Banks, Governmental offices, local hospitals, etc.

Favorite Food: Chicken Dayz’ fried chicken!

Favorite passage: Psalm 32:8 (Living Bible, TLB)

"I will instruct you (says the Lord) and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress."
