Thanks to the efforts of the Martin County Healthy Start Coalition and its partners, our community is making great strides in fulfilling the mission of ensuring that every baby is born healthy. From screening expectant mothers in the earliest days of their pregnancy through home visitations and social supports within the community, Healthy Start is there to help by offering prenatal care from qualified midwives, birthing care and assistance from community doulas, education and support, and connections with social services networks to be sure mothers and babies are eating well, living in a safe environment, coping with mental health or developmental issues, and thriving.
