In 2017, the Miner Disc Golf Club was revitalized by current President Ethan Huddleston and a small group of founding members. Their mission was to establish a community for disc golfers on the Missouri S&T campus, develop a competitive team, and grow the sport itself. In less than two years, membership and participation increased nearly fivefold. The club hosted its first tournament in March 2018 in the Missouri S&T Experimental Mine.
In October 2018, the club learned of an opportunity to compete for a national championship bid at the first ever Missouri Collegiate State Championship. Two teams were quickly formed and sent to Harmony Bends Championship Disc Golf Course in Columbia to compete for the title against Mizzou and the University of Kansas. After two days of intense competition, Missouri S&T walked away with the state title and the coveted national championship bid. The national championship is held in late March at the International Disc Golf Center in Georgia. Attending the competition will require a significant monetary investment for travel, lodging, food, and entry fees. Every donation will help us make this incredible opportunity a reality for our twelve competitors.
Thank you for supporting the Missouri Collegiate Disc Golf Champions!
