Why support the Vasculitis Foundation (VF)?

The mission of the Vasculitis Foundation is to support, inspire, and empower individuals with vasculitis and their families through a wide range of education, research, clinical, and awareness initiatives. The VF is dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and curing all forms of vasculitis.

Our Story

My daughter, Ingrid, suffered her first stroke in August 2022 when she was 19 years old.  She suffered several more strokes before being diagnosed with a rare form of vasculitis.   While she received good care in our hometown, her head stroke neurologist felt she needed to see the most experienced, skilled stroke neurologists and neurosurgeons at Cleveland Clinic. We began the journey at Cleveland Clinic in March 2023.

Ingrid's Cleveland Clinic Neurology team suspected she has PACNS - Primary Angiitis of the Central Nervous System - also known as Primary Central Nervous System Vasculitis. It is a rare and severe form of vasculitis limited to the brain, spinal cord, and leptomeninges, resulting in inflammation of CNS vessels, and causing stroke or bleeding.

Why VF needs your donation!

Diagnosing this disease is challenging because the disease mimics other diseases and there is no clear diagnosis criteria for many forms of vasculitis, especially the rare forms like what Ingrid has (PACNS). It can take months to get a firm diagnosis.

Vasculitis research is underfunded. But with your donation, you can help researchers make steps towards understanding the causes of the disease and new treatments that can save lives.

Make your donation today!

I have a goal to make $5,000 for VF by the time I run the race.  Please help me get there by making my goal!  Every dollar counts, so thank you so much.

I stand with the vasculitis community and am fundraising on behalf of the VF to fund research into the disease and improved ways to diagnose this rare disease!

Remember:  Every dollar counts and is a step closer to a better life for someone you know with vasculitis.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
