University of Arkansas - Fort Smith
Support a proven pipeline for student research publications and community involvement.
The History, Social Sciences, and Philosophy Department wants to establish an annual competition to support student research and open dialogue about the history of settler colonialism and its impact on indigenous people among the students, faculty, and the larger campus community. Each year, the department will determine a specific focus by considering the courses offered, archival collections in the Pebley Center, local commemorative events, and potential guest speakers.
The annual competition will allow students to work closely with faculty on research projects connecting the campus and community. Students can use UAFS archival collections and improve their writing, presentation, and publishing skills.
