University of Arkansas - Fort Smith
A fee-free way into SNA.
The Student Nurses Association, a registered student organization, provides nursing students with a community all their own. The stresses of nursing can be immense, and SNA provides a home for students who understand each other, share their struggles, and support one another. Having the heart for caring for others is a responsibility not everyone can handle, but nursing students are rising to the occasion. Students participate in conferences and lectures from travel nurses, ICU nurses, and other nursing students and professors, all to gain and share valuable experiences.
A small fee exists to join SNA, and supporting the organization helps cover the cost for nursing students. The rigor of nursing school prevents most students from working outside the classroom, creating undue financial pressures. Funding SNA removes that barrier and will help develop a scholarship for future nursing students to avoid facing a similar financial struggle.
“We can do so much more in the community if we have more people because we have the heart; we just don’t have enough hands to do it.” – Ally Wright, SNA Community Service and Marketing Management (December 2024 grad)
