Honoring the legacy of Tah-Hsiung Hsu, MD

Hsu Family Scholars, honoring the legacy of the late Tah-Hsiung Hsu, MD

Dr. Tah-Hsiung Hsu came to the United States with only two-hundred dollars in his pocket. He supported himself through medical school and as a physician, dedicated himself to helping medical residents become the best physicians they could be. Dr. Hsu believed that the most important element of being a fine physician was to be a life-long learner and have a caring heart.

To honor Dr. Hsu’s legacy of compassionate care and life-long dedication to learning, we invite you to make a gift by supporting research scholarships for medical students in the MedStar Health Summer Scholars program. Designed for rising second-year medical students to be exposed to research, MedStar Health in partnership with its academic partner, Georgetown University School of Medicine, pairs students with experienced physician-scientists across the MedStar Health system. Students work alongside an experienced investigator, spanning a variety of medical specialties, in a clinical or translational research project that contributes to advancing healthcare.

We invite you to make a gift to the Summer Scholars program, in honor of Dr. Hsu’s legacy. As we endeavor to sustain the program, the Hsu Family Scholars will mean an investment in the students of today, and the physicians of tomorrow.
