Support SAMS' May 2023 Lebanon Dental Mission
Since 2019, Lebanon has been facing an unprecedented economic, social, and political crisis that has caused widespread poverty, ongoing turmoil, and a collapse in basic services, including healthcare.
Currency depreciation, COVID-19, the Beirut port explosion of 2020, and rising global fuel and energy prices have worsened Lebanon’s already-dire situation, especially for Lebanon’s 1 million+ Syrian refugees, 90% of whom live in extreme poverty and have limited access to basic healthcare. More than 51% of Syrian refugees in Lebanon are below the age of 18 and 21 years continue to live in informal settlements.
To address this critical need, SAMS is organizing a medical/dental/surgery mission to Lebanon in May 2023, in partnership with Global Smiles for Miles. The mission will provide much-needed medical care and support to Syrian refugees living in Lebanon.
