The Executive MBA Class of 2022 unexpectedly lost a dear friend and classmate, Michael D. Carroll II. Michael epitomized someone who lived life to the fullest--he was fun-loving, generous, and a genuine friend and colleague. Something always stood out about Michael: his passion and love for the University of Notre Dame. Michael often spoke of his lifelong dream of “Becoming Irish” and how the EMBA program was an amazing opportunity to fulfill that goal. He embodied Notre Dame’s goal to cultivate “an appreciation for the great achievements of human beings, but also a disciplined sensibility to the poverty, injustice, and oppression that burden the lives of so many.”
Michael was such a blessing and deeply enriched the lives of those around him. To honor his legacy, the EMBA Class of 2022 and Michael’s family established a scholarship in his name. The scholarship will be open to prospective EMBA candidates who demonstrate a financial need and exhibit a high level of passion for the University, with a preference for someone involved in the real estate field. There is no better tribute to honor Michael than to help fulfill future students' dreams of attending Notre Dame.
All donations collected will go directly to the Michael D. Carroll II Memorial Scholarship. Michael always showed up and was never hesitant to pitch in, may this scholarship be a testament to his generosity, leadership, faith, and love for the University of Notre Dame.
